Flag Request

I think this is the right place to ask for this, but if it's not, then disregard this post.

Could someone make me a flag? I'd like it to use the attached blue-white-green tricolour, but with the GDR (DDR) symbol in the middle? Also, on the symbol, if the maker could change the banner on the symbol to match the tricolour? I'd prefer it untextured, as I'm going to use it in a game.

Thanks!

Mexico could still be something like "Mesikia".

Mechiké, for instance.

Actually, California might be a Greek name for a lost island, although it appears in the Roland chivalry poems as Califerne. The Island of the Amazons in India.

So "Kaleiforneia" or "Kaliforneia" would not be a bad choice.

And, of course, Argentina would be Argyreia, the Land of Silver.

Here's a quick one for AltCalifornia - Basileon tes Arktouros.
It's sort of a bear paw with a crown

And my entry:

The loss of Constantinople was the final blow to the Latin Empire's ruling dynasty in its century decline.

Below is Laurence's personal banner as Latin Roman Emperor and bears the Imperial Seal [showing the LRE's role as King of Jerusalem] over the Imperial [Crusader] Cross in his House colours as per imperial tradition for heirs:

Like this?

Seems a couple of my flags are in the Turtledove polls. Teutonic Order in Space is doing surprisingly well.

Anyway, new flag time:

It represents nothing in particular. I just wanted to use those swords for something.

Very nice flags guys!

Here's a flag request I did.

As requested by ~Nekromans, who wanted a flag for a "post-apocalyptic state based in the Tennessee Valley, run by what used to be the United States Military."

I am told that it ended up as sort of a neo-feudalistic state dominated by the descendants of US military officials and of the state governments. Consult ~Nekromans for further details if you are interested.

The hoist and circle of stars are from the flag of Tennessee. Originally, what was the hoist on this flag was on the right side of the Tennessee flag, but I figured this would look better. The circle with stars originally only had three stars, but I changed it to the US Army General Insignia. (Which gets bonus points for also including the Pentagon.)

The stripes are, of course, from the original US flag. I am assuming that even a US successor state that has renounced its claims of being the legitimate USA would keep them around.

I'm going with "Pacifikheia", from the Pacific Ocean.

That said, can somebody come up with a flag?

Pacifikheia is not Greek, you just made it up. If the Byzies had colonies in America, they sure didn't call the Pacific like that, "Pacific" comes from a Latin word, not Greek.

I think a good name for America would be Hesperia, or Hesperia Eschaté (the Last Hesperia) Hesperia is the legendary westernmost land. For a long time, it was Spain, but with the Discovery, things changed.

Here is a challenge !

Nation/State: Union of the Highlands
Government: Dictatorship. That is a puppet state of France/Germany/any nation which can be a UK ennemy.
Era: 1900's, 1910's

Can someone come up with flags for Independant Borneo and Sumatra?

Here's my try at it.

Gold stands for Brunei. Red stands for Sarawak. Blue stands for Sabah. Orange stands for Kalimantan, because Kalimantan was once a Dutch colony.

If the middle looks a bit empty to you, I could add an outline of the island. Or perhaps a coat of arms, if you've designed one.

Exactly like that, actually! Do you need my email, or will you post the bigger one here?

I'll post it here, I should get a chance to do it properly tomorrow.

Highlands of Scotland? How about one of the Jacobite flags?

Following the collapse of the Israeli state in 1952 after the King Farouq War, occupying forces from the USSR, US, UK, Sweden and Canada got together in Damascus to discuss the future of the region. It was agreed that following the irrational, destructive acts of the former Israeli state*, that the territory be given to the original Arab owners.

However, talks broke down as the Russians and the other allies could not decide on a common vision. Accusations flew between Egyptian and UK delegations on one side and the Russians on the other, and the Soviets stormed out. A communist nation was established in the North. This state consists of Jewish and Palestinians in an attempt to integrate the two peoples under Soviet patronage. Jewish immigration has resumed from the Soviet Union to this new state despite Egyptian protest.

This is basically inspired by the 1950's NG thread over at the Shared Worlds forum. We're still in talks, and it seems Palestine is going to be reunited as a neutral country (like Switzerland), but this is pretty much "what if the negotiations *don't* work out?"

* - before you ask, since this was based on our 1950 NG thread, the Israeli player did some really, really stupid stuff. That includes assassinating Egypt's King Farouq (hence the name of the war), then trying to take out the entire Egyptian leadership once that got found out, then destroyed Mecca with a nuke while IAF nuclear bombers on route to Cairo got shot down. So yeah, Israel kinda got itself curbstomped.

And here's the "South Palestine" flag to match:

In response to the People's Republic of Palestine being created, Egypt and the Allies quickly helped form the counterpart to the Communist north, forming the new nation in 1956 from the Gaza Strip, Naqab desert, central Palestine (basically the area containing Tel Aviv up to Netanya) and Western Jerusalem, with the de jure capital at Jerusalem but temporarily held in Gaza city until the radiation clears up and rebuilding is complete. As of the moment, the West Bank is still under Jordanian sovereignty despite talks with the two Palestines.

Due to a strong religious revival in the country, the nation is rapidly turning Islamic, making discussions with a Communist North difficult, especially since the North has a sizable Jewish population.

Tel Aviv (now renamed Yaffa) and Jerusalem still suffer from the effects of the Soviet nukes used the state of Israel in its dying days (Haifa is the third city to be nuked, so Communist Palestine has its capital at Acre), so there is still much construction to be done.
