Chapter 1
Chapter 1: My Big Fat Anglo-Scot Wedding

It is 1554, Edward VI is 16 and is ready to marry Mary, Queen of Scots, In order to unite the thrones of England and Scotland.

Mary herself is 11, with the advice of her regent, James Hamilton, Earl of Arran, decides to go through with the marriage, given that she is rather fond of Edward and does want her country to make peace with his.

Edward's older sisters, Mary and Elizabeth, have been invited, Mary chooses not to go, as she is not particularly fond of her young brother, though she did send some gifts, Elizabeth, however, did choose to go, as she felt it was an obligation to go to her brother's wedding.

Other guests include Edward's former regent, John Dudley, Duke of Northumberland and Gustav I, King of Sweden.

Edward and Mary chose to get married at a small homestead near England's border with Scotland, to symbolise the joining of the two young monarchs, The two stood side by side as the Archbishop said the vows of marriage.

"I hereby pronounce you, man and wife"

and So it is Official, Edward VI of England and Mary of Scotland are now husband and wife, and England and Scotland are now united via a personal union as Edward is now also The King of Scotland and Mary is now The Queen of England.

The French are angry, but they won't do anything till the 1560s
How influenced was Mary by the French Court?Perhaps she will influence the Reformation in the British isles towards a more moderate path and reconcile it with Edwards more Protestant views, given that She is Queen of Scotland and Queen Consort of England and Ireland, she should have a great influence on the matter.

I'm planning on Edward and Mary making Britain a place where both Catholics and Protestants can live in peace.

The French may or may not team up with the Pope and The Holy Romans to take down Edward and Mary.

Chapter 2
Chapter 2: England and Scotland, Brothers in Monarchs

The marriage of Edward and Mary was not popular among everybody, as some Scots believed the English have done too much bad stuff to them and therefore do not want an Englishman to be their king while some Englishmen believe the Scots are uncivilised savages and do not want a Scot as their queen.

Mary and Edward have come to the agreement not to have children until Mary turns 18, which makes both of their courts worry that the two of them might die before they bare a child.

The French, who had a treaty with Scotland, are extremely angry that the Scots have decided to marry their queen to the English king, The French king, Henri II, responded with.

"Nous sommes profondément scandalisés par la tournure des événements, l'Écosse a directement violé notre traité et a marié sa reine au roi d'Angleterre, mais cependant, nous resterons pacifiques pour le moment, mais si les Anglais et les Écossais commencent à prendre des mesures contre Le royaume de France, il y aura la guerre"

Henri II, was, for a lack of a better term, furious that the Scots broke the treaty but not to the point of having a war over it

The people of Wales, which was apart of England, were utterly baffled that the English and The Scots are now united via the marriage of their monarchs, but however, as no one cared what the Welsh thought at the time, they were largely ignored.

Pope Julius III hoped the marriage between the Protestant Edward and the Catholic Mary would unite the Protestants and the Catholics of the two countries, He would not live to see his hopes come true, as he died in 1555.

Chapter 3: England Goes to War with France, Again and a United Kingdom

Regent of France, Catherine de Medici and her son, King Charles IX, plan on getting back at Mary for violating their treaty, Catherine sends 2 French ships to the coast in England, where they fire upon a a small Fishing village, The news gets back to Edward and he sends 4 ships to combat the French ones.

The ships engage in an engagement, resulting in one of the French Ships sinking and the crew of the second one being captured by English forces.

England and Scotland officially declare war on France.

English and Scottish troops land in Normandy on January 1562, the Battle is a heavy loss for the French, losing one of their best generals.

The war would continue for another year, Catherine refuses to give up, even though even her son Charles knows this war will likely end in a English and Scottish Victory.

On 29th June, 1563, two days after Charles' 13th birthday and therefore, he can now rule by himself, Has his mother imprisoned and surrenders to the English, who take Normandy.

On July 1st 1563, Edward and Mary sign a document that will officially unite the two kingdoms as one country, on July 31st The Parliaments of both countries pass It, and on August 1st 1563, The United Kingdom of Great Britain is formed.

Chapter 4: Britain and France Make Peace and The Beginnings of an Empire

King Edward of Britain and King Charles of France are at a peace meeting, both sick of their nations rivalry.

At the meeting, they agree that Britain and France shall begin a trade deal, they also agree that Normandy should stay under British rule.

On January 5th 1564, England sends a ship to the North American continent, landing in what is now Maine, the 100 settlers create a small town called Edwardsville, The leader of the Settlers, Seymour Barron, declares himself the Governor of Edwardsville and sends a letter to the King and Queen.

Queen Mary gives birth to her third and final child, Prince James, after her late father, James V of Scotland.

In an attempt to make some easy money, King Phillip of Spain sells The Spanish Netherlands to the British.

Edward appoints his surviving older sister Elizabeth as Governor of the British Netherlands, despite technically only being a governor, she essentially rules the Netherlands as her own personal kingdom, as Edward and Mary are far too busy with Britain and Ireland to care about their newly bought territory.

In Edwardsville, Governor Barron meets the Native Americans, he chases them off their land and expands Edwardsville. he would continue to be Governor of Edwardsville until his death in December 1565.

I love the idea of Edward marrying Mary Queen of Scots, so I shall watch this, though I will point out that threadmarks might be useful if you plan on making this a long TL. Love the names for the kids, very realistic, although I am surprised Edward chose Eleanor for his daughter's name and not Elizabeth, Mary or Jane for his mother...
