A commonly known fact is that while Benedict-Washington D.C. is named after the first two presidents of the United States. A less widely known fact is that one of them courted and was about to marry a Tory, until a near disaster in the war called him away to turn it around into what was the Colony's greatest upset victory of the war.

Could Benedict Arnold have become a Jean, that most infamous Colonel in American History?

I wonder would the United States become a Republic then? Or might George Washington be named King George I? He didn't have a child to pass the throne on to so that would make an interesting scenario?
