Coincidental FH books which become OTL- fiction becomes truth...

has anybody read Morgan Robertson's novel about a fictional passenger ship called the TITAN, which reportedly paralleled nearly in exactly the same way the TITANIC was lost in 1912 and was written a few yrs before the event ? can anybody think of any other such examples of fiction actually becoming truth ?

Not a book, but that show Seven Days had alot of things that kinda match up to events. Like the time terrorists bombed subways in New York around the morning rush.

I would think much of what Verne and Wells wrote might qualify for that. They perdicted manned rockets, sattelites, submarines, sonar, tanks, zepplins/airships, etc...

He predicted metal fatigue would bring down an airliner, before the Comets went down. The Comet was the great hope of the British aerospace industry, back when the British aerospace industry wasn't a government jobs program.

Some Wild Coincidences....

Here are a few wild coincidences that I certainly remember:

A) The Lone Gunmen (FoX-TV)- In one episode, the Lone Gunmen discover an attempt by the military to develop a disaster scenario that would justify the creation of martial law. In the episode, teh scenario that was chosen by military officials was the crashing of a 747 into downtown NYC, specifically the World Trade Center....

B) The Siege (1998)- starring Denzel Washington, Bruce Willis, and Annette Benning, predicts terrorist attacks ordered by a leader who seems to be Osama bin Laden, accusations of torture launched against American soldiers based on the "illegal captivity" of terror cell leaders, the bombing of NYC by suicide bombers, the possiblity of internment of Arab-Americans discussed by political pundits...

C) The Shape of Things to Come (1936) - based on the H.G. Wells novel predicts a war against Germany, with the bombing of London, the removal of Great Britain as a political superpower....

When I read the FH of the RPG Shadowrun, I continued that story a bit, writing a few things about Germany in TTL.

Well, and this story of mine started like that:
In 2005, the German government of Social Democrats and Greens falls because of continuing economic problems (in Shadowrun, they were caused because of the Big Earthquake that was supposed to destroy NYC this year, though). The Social Democrat party splits, and a new Socialist party emerges, led by Oskar Lafontaine, and unites with the East German PDS (old Socialists).

Let's see how things go on...

WK Willis-there was a movie with Jimmy Stewart-called No highway in the Sky.Possibly based on the same thing.Released the same time the British were having trouble with the Comet aircraft.
