1929: Joey Drew Studios, a new cartoon studio, makes its first cartoon, Little Devil Darlin', starring a new character, Bendy the Dancing Demon.

The cartoon is a big hit, and people say that "Bendy might be the next Mickey or Oswald."

A playful little fellow, Bendy can get up to some naughty antics when left to his own devices.
As will be seen in our future cartoons, Bendy is mischievous and full of fun. He likes to get people's attention and he'll stop at nothing to make sure he has it.

Wouldn’t having a literal demon as a cartoon character be too dark for some kids? I know some cartoons back in the 1900s got away with some stuff, but damn, this’d probably be some next level stuff right here.

Not really. A few early cartoons depicted hell and the devil. Animation when it started wasn’t aimed at kids but adults.

But you also have to keep in mind that Protagonists being a Demon and portray as Troublemaking and Friendly will probably ruffles some feathers Especially with the Bible belting South

Hey guys I don’t know you don’t know this but have you ever heard of the Satanic Panic in the 1980s and early 1990s
It was a Mass Hysteria of Christian group pretty much Canceled Music and shows and products throughout the 80

Bendy will get Slaughtered and Twitter Canceled to Death
Hell there might be some court cases and lawsuit against the creator of Bendy for “Promote Satanism and be inappropriate for children”

so Bendy in the 80s will be the dark age for the company and to the show
