Bella Ciao! Mussolini the Socialist

This will be the first *real* timeline I attempt.

What will I try and pull off?

The goal I have is a socialist Mussolini that never turns to Fascism and eventually rises to power nonetheless. Given this is my first timeline, I am open to suggestions and I will probably make mistakes along the way. One thing I know for sure; is the butterflies will be enormous. Fascism created a wave across Europe, inspiring some of the most heinous folks such as Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party. Now this is not to say there will not be far right despotic regimes TTL, it is to say the way they evolve will be COMPLETELY different for the most part. For the most part, by the modern age, the current world will be mostly an alien one.

Before I write the first chapter questions and suggestions are welcome.

I'll be interested to see how he comes to power - the socialists in Italy had a pretty tough time in the inter-war period.

This premise is extremely interesting considering all the potential outcomes in all Europe, but I'm doubtful about how Mussolini would rise to power.
I can't see Victor Emmanuel III abdicate in favor of a socialist, and the army's cabinet is even less likely to quietly agree to such a thing. Is civil war inevitable?
And one of reason of Fascist Party's success was shutting down or severely crippling the opposition, with pitched "battles" against communists and worker strikes, as well as assaulting buildings like union headquarters.
Would he instead be able to manipulate the public opinion and convince the conservative voters to support him for the sake of undoing the vittoria mutilata?

Maybe if there's a greater irredentist drift in pre-WWI Italian Socialism he can become a figure to rally around.

yeah, but a much Greater irrendist division can create pretty strong butterfly for the general internal politic of Italy as a the goverment can try to coopt them to form a goverment during the war.

Nope, nada, not even if snow in hell.

I will give this away, power wont get taken peacefully.

And among the socialists Mussolini will not immediately start with power, the man will manipulate his way

Which could be useful first step for a slow but decisive ascension to power of Benny's Socialists.
