American mandate in Armenia

After ww1 Wilson pushed for a strong and larger than today Armenia, it was put forth that the US should take on an Armenian mandate, like the British in Palestine, to ensure it's integrity. This never came to pass and the envisionds Armenia was soon split between Turkey and the Soviet Union.

What if the US had tried to enforce an Armenian mandate? I guess ut would mean involvement in the Turkish war for independence, would it change the outcome?

It’s possible an American intervention in Armenia would give Lloyd-George the fillip he needed to his own interventionist aims.

Well that Armenian Mandate starts WW II off with a bang and early. Wilson was a lunatic, but even he could SEE THE FOLLY of getting inside that vipers nest after the State Department and the FRENCH explained it to him.
