He's a gamer, like Jim Ward, and used to contribute to the TSR gaming magazines back in the day. I myself haven't done any fantasy role playing since the mid 90s, but I was familiar with his work.

That was pretty cool. I'd thought his name sounded familiar for the last two or three years that I've been on this board, but I could never place it.
