Who in the name of Christmas would do such a thing?
Never the mind the UK telling them to sod off, France and Germany, as well as Spain and Portugal getting dismembered for no plausible purpose makes this a dead letter. EU Parliament would never consider this in a million years.
Is the Daily Mail in the same league as US tabloids or worse re: ASB conspiracy theories?

it'll be the typical heily Fail response of taking something barely related and making a good story up to appeal to the semi literate frothers that read it

The Daily is the closest we have here to far right media (well as far as UK law allows). It is also home to the lovely Adrian Littlejohn and Peter Hitchens is known to occasionaly write columns for them.
