AHC: Maximum ethnic groups for POTUS with a pod after 1973

With a pod after 20 January 1973, have as many ethnic groups represented for the POTUS by today.

My planning:

Hiram Fong (an ethnic Chinese) is selected as Agnew's vice presidential successor (1st pod). Watergate, the 1973 War between Arab nations and Israel and the North Vietnamese victory in Vietnam, along with reapproachment between China and the US goes as in otl. Then, after Nixon resigns as in otl, Hiram Fong becomes an unpopular president and loses the 1976 Presidential election to Edmund Muskie (an ethnic Pole) instead of otl's Jimmy Carter. Second pod: Edmund Muskie dies in office during his 1st term due to an assassination attempt by John Hinckley Jr. (executed by 1981 in this scenario), allowing Daniel Inoyue (ethnic Japanese vice president) to become US President before Reagan takes over in 1981. In 1983, Paul Laxalt (an ethnic Basque) becomes President after Reagan dies in a plane crash that year with Laxalt as his running mate (3rd Pod). However, Walter Mondale (ethnic Norwegian) or Richard Caliguiri (ethnic Albanian and Italian) becomes president in 1984, dies in office and is succeeded by Richard F. Kneip (ethnic Luxembourgish), who lives two years longer than reality. Paul Tsongas (ethnic Greek) does not falter in his US Presidential Campaign and becomes US President in 1992. When Lloyd Bentsen (an ethnic Dane, successor to Paul Tsongas who dies in office) leaves office by 20 January 2001, George Pataki (an ethnic Hungarian with Italian ancestry) becomes US President until 2005, only to die from the Curse of Tippacanoe and to be succeeded by his Arab-American vice president E. Spencer Abraham (ethnic Lebanese), followed by Colin Powell as the first black (African-American Jamaican, likely ex-slave ancestry from West Africa) US Republican President in 2009 and Obama as the first Democratic black (Kenyan Luo) US President in 2013. The US Presidential election campaigns in 2016 provide Ben Nighthorse Campbell (with Native American Cheyenne and Portuguese ancestry) as US President. What happens in 2020 is up to one's choice (maybe a Hispanic US President, Julian Castro or Ted Cruz, who dies in office to be replaced by Kamala Harris with Indian ancestry, followed by Amy Klobouchar (a Slovene) in 2024 ). After 2024, Elliot Spitzer (a Jew with fewer scandals than otl), Mayor Pete (a Maltese), Joe Sestak (a Slovak), Loren Leman (with Attiluq ancestry) and several Asian-American (Korean-American, Vietnamese-American, Thai-American, Punjab Sikh-American, Laotian-American, Hmong-American, Cambodian-American, Indonesian-American, Iranian-American and a Taiwanese-American/ Chinese-American/ Nepalese-American) presidents for an Asian-American era of US Presidents from 2040 to 2080. With a Turkish and Kurdish descended-American President elected in 2080 and serving until 2085, followed by a Rohingya and Burmese- descended American President until 2089.

With a pod after 1 January 1948, I can see the following ethnic add-ons:

Dewey becomes US president in 1948 with a pod after 1 January 1948 (or Louis C. Rabault using a 1947 or 1948 pod for a Belgian ethnic POTUS, may not be needed or as a running mate for Truman, who dies in a White House repairs-related accident in 1949 or 1950) and in 1952, he (Dewey, Rabault or Truman) passes the Presidential candidacy to Earl Warren (ethnic Swede and Norwegian), who becomes president until defeated by Eisenhower in 1956. Or Earl Warren decides not to be Chief Justice with a January 1953 pod and becomes a Republican Potus for 1957 to 1961, after Eisenhower's 1st term. In 1960, JFK wins as in otl and has a presidency similar to otl. An ethnic Czech becomes LBJ's running mate in 1964 and LBJ dies in office (Otto Kerner jr. as LBJ's running mate). Then, Nixon takes successful Alaskan governor Mike Stepovich (ethnic Montenegrin, Croat and Serbian) as a vice president and Nixon dies due to suicide bombing in 1974 on the White House, allowing Mike Stepovich to be US president (ethnic Montenegrin, Croat and Serbian) before being forced to transfer the presidency to Hiram Fong and resign due to Watergate in August 1974. Or Nixon is shot in April 1972 by Arthur Bremer and Stepovich becomes POTUS until being forced to resign due to Watergate, with Hiram Fong being Stepovich's successor. From Hiram Fong onwards, see the paragraph above, but note the butterfly effect of a 1948/ 1953 pod compared to a 1973 pod, and with Daniel Inoyue being possibly elected as POTUS in 1984 instead of Mondale or a short Inoyue presidency. Perhaps for both 1948/ 1953 pod and 1973 pod scenarios, the ethnic Armenian governor of California (Deukmejian) can win reelection in 1988 and be US president from 1989 to 1993 (or die of indigestion on January 8 1992 while travelling to Japan during a banquet and Dan Quayle (an ethnic Manx) serves as US President for 1 year and 12 days) while Bill Richardson (ethnic Hispanic), Ben Cayetano (ethnic Filipino) and/ or (either individually or any combination) Richard Durbin (ethnic Irish-Lithuanian) can be US president for 2005 to 2009 (used Cayetano (later poisoned by ricin from white supremacists) and Durbin for discussion purposes or Cayetano for a full 2005 to 2009 term and a Republican voting white supremacist assassination of Obama in May 2013 with ricin, with Durbin taking over Obama's Presidential duties), E. Spencer Abraham having taken over George Pataki's 1st US Presidential term earlier, possibly over 9/11 and Pataki's 9/11 death in the bombed White House only to be forced to resign in the aftermath of 9/11 Islamophobia and Arabophobia, to be replaced by Tom Ridge (with ethnic Rusyn and Cherokee ancestry). Tom Ridge can fatally choke on a pretzel on 14 January 2002 (for this thread's discussion) and be replaced by Gary Johnson (with Russian and Ukrainian ancestry).

Charles Curtis (with Kaw Indian ancestry) can be POTUS with a pod of Herbert Hoover dying in office during his otl POTUS term (likely from emotional stress after the Great Depression). Then, Roosevelt and his POTUS terms plus 1930s and 1940s politics in US and worldwide run as in otl (including WW2). Or for fewer butterflies, Jim Pepper (with Kaw and Muscogee Creek ancestry) lives longer and runs for politics in the 1990s with a 1980 secondary pod (relative to 1948, 1953 and 1973 primary pods mentioned above) and becomes US President in 2008 after Cayetano dies in office due to a shoeing incident in Afghanistan (no Iraq War in this scenario, but War in Afghanistan and 9/11 are not butterflied in this scenario).

1973: Nixon replaces U.S. Attorney George Beall with a loyalist who quashes an investigation into political corruption in Baltimore County that could have implicated Vice-President Agnew.

1974: Nixon resigns, making Agnew the first Greek-American President

1976: Ed Muskie decides to enter the Democratic primary race and defeats Jimmy Carter for the nomination. With Agnew embroiled by corruption scandals of his own, Muskie wins a decisive victory and becomes the first Polish-American President.

1980: Ed Muskie is defeated by Ronald Reagan, who becomes the United States' second president with substantial Irish ancestry.

1988: Reagan's Vice-President, Paul Laxalt, rides the strong economy to victory over Michael Dukakis, becoming the first President with substantial Basque descent.

1992: Taking advantage of a weak field, Iowa senator Tom Harkin becomes the Democratic nominee for President and wins due to the faltering economy. He is the first president with Slovenian ancestry (on his mother's side).

2000: Harkin's Vice President, Douglas Wilder, becomes the first African American President

2004: Following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Wilder is defeated by New York Governor George Pataki, the first president of Hungarian descent

2008: Pataki's reelection bid is doomed by an economic crisis. New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson becomes the first Hispanic president

2016: Amid a backlash to President Richardson's socially liberal policies and allegations of infidelity around Vice-President Edwards, Rick Santorum becomes the first Italian-American President.

To be honest, George Pataki has Italian ancestry on his mother's side.
