My proposition is Bamun becoming the Zanzibar of West Africa(mutually benefitial partnership with a European Colonial Power). What are your suggestions?

If the Ottomans hadn't screwed up all of North Africa when not have been colonized.
The Sultanate of Darfur could of held on if it kept the status quo during the First World War and didn't antagonise the British by refusing tribute and associating with the Ottomans. If it isn't invaded anyways by 1925 it will be left alone.
