How could a country with a population of 120 million have a puppet with over a billion people?
Might want to ask the British Empire about that. Proportionately, the English were even fewer relative to the Raj back in the day.

This is the completed topographic stage of a fantasy world that I've been working on for some time. I've called it "Rada" for now, but I've been having second thoughts on that name as of late. As for the backstory, I'll discuss that once I have some cultural and political maps done.

It is indeed a crater of non-natural origin. There are other, similar features scattered throughout the map.
I am considering using one of your continents in the Nation Drop III mapgame and having it settled with (my own) alien species. I will naturally be giving you full credit for the continent, and thus I hope that this is okay.
If permission is not denied until 10 p.m. Berlin Time, I will assume that this is okay with you...
Is that perhaps the result of a nuclear test/attack?
Since you've asked nicely, I'll allow it. In the future however, it would be safer for you to assume that no response means that it is not okay. There is a decent chance that I might not have even seen your request here.
China is roughly 11 times larger than Japan.
In 1900 India was 7 times larger than the UK.
Thanks for allowing me to use some of your lovely continents!
Why should I assume that some use is not permitted? Is that a general guideline or does that apply to you, personally?
I would consider it a general guideline. As I said, lack of response may just mean that they did not see your request. A post in a large thread can easily be overlooked (especially in this case; it's been a week since I posted the map and as such wasn't expecting more comments on it). Also, it's best to err on the side of caution in such matters.
It's just not nice to do it without their permission. What caution do you mean? Some legal issue? Because, AFAIK, for the rules of this site, it does not constitute plagiarism to copy somebody else's work if and as long as you give the author of the work credit.
Is this correct?

Actually, regardless of where on the Internet something is posted, the author retains full copyright unless they specifically give up that right.
To be sure, most people here are a lot more easy going than that. But to assume permission is granted because of a lack of specific refusal is, quite literally, copyright theft.
What's up with Madagascar there?

In 1900 India was 7 times larger than the UK.
The Holy Malagasy Empire underwent a period of severe fragmentation after WWIII, and was pestered by missionaries from all over. Current national unity is highly theoretical.
(It's a Holy Roman Empire joke )
