Magnificate - it looks good, and is readable. However, without the title and the description, it would appear that France, rather than Poland, is the most important player in this system. What if you rotated everything 90 degrees and tried to move France somewhere so that it doesn't stick out?

I only looked at internal borders after writing my previous comment. I really like what you did with them in Lithuania's case. And I agree that Brest being part of the country does not make sense, at least not in this scenario. It would make sense if Lithuania was restored as a multinational...

Hm, Caucasus is a mess. Also, the line around the Mitteleuropa would look nicer if it was running along the inside, rather than outside, of the borders. Is Austria and Bohemia being in Mitteleuropa your intentional changes? What about Bulgaria not controlling Constanta? Also, Belarus looks...
  4. The 1st 8 minutes of V.

Fair enough. But since I have seen ID, and haven't seen the 80s version of V, the connection in my mind is with ID ;)
  5. The 1st 8 minutes of V.

The kids on TV said my thoughts exactly. This is "Independence day". And the beginning looks far too hectic. I will probably watch it, but I'm not getting any hopes up.

In short, no. The border which is also the current eastern border of Lithuania was established as a border of the newly incorporated Lithuanian SSR at around 1941 (I forget the exact dates). In the interwar, Vilnius was occupied by Poland, whereas the de jure border between Lithuania and USSR...

The Eastern border of Lithuania would be anything but this. More seriously, what's the status of Brest-Litovsk (the treaty)? Is Germany forced to withdraw any claims on those formerly Russian Empire's lands or are they free to set-up puppet regimes there?

    And here's the map.

The first Voidship was launched in the 1840s. By the late 1860s, most of the planets of the Solar System were colonized (to some extent) by the Great Powers. Tensions were rising, as inevitably border skirmishes happened on the vast arid plains of Mars, in the subterranean mines of Titan and...
  10. Map of the Fortnight: Topic thread

This reminds me of two maps I did quite a while ago which focus on several Spanish colonies gaining independence during some civil war in the mid-17th century. I believe I can do something about that...
  11. MoF 06: Voting thread

I'm trying to get past this, it's just not working very well... :D EDIT: Oh, and my vote goes to Scarecrow. I have the same complaint as many others toward Nugax's map - the idea is brilliant, but I want to be able to read the labels if they are there...
  12. Map Thread VI

Scarecrow, you rock. And your map does too. It's absolutely amazingly well done, not to mention the idea, which is really cool as well. However, you forgot to draw the border between Rum and Kipchak in the Caucasus.
  13. Map of the Fortnight: Topic thread

Alex Richards - it's an interesting take on the subject. I like the idea, even if the implementation could have been much better.
  14. Map of the Fortnight: Topic thread

My submission is up. It's nothing spectacular, and I probably have made a fair share of ASBish mistakes with names and borders, but there you go :) EDIT: Oh, and I hope I am allowed to at least put a submission up, if not participate in the voting :)

My submission to MoF6 - Industrialised Southern Song. --- When the Alterna-Time Inc. explorers entered this world, it did not seem to differ significantly from the bulk. Europe was a mess of feudal states, the Byzantine Empire's power was waning, the Reconquista was proceeding. ...And...
  16. MoF 06: Southern Song Industialises

When the Alterna-Time Inc. explorers entered this world, it did not seem to differ significantly from the bulk. Europe was a mess of feudal states, the Byzantine Empire's power was waning, the Reconquista was proceeding. ...And then they went to the East.
  17. Map of the Fortnight: Topic thread

Well, I'm working on an entry, although I found it hard to devise something original. I wanted to use my unused idea from the first MoF - clack towers, but decided against it, as the vastness of China really doesn't fit the range limits on any such technology. But I got another, rather bland...
  18. Map Thread VI

Epic indeed. Some of the labels are very difficult to read though.
  19. DBWI: ATL Map of Europe

Well, I must admit that the map is done rather nicely, from an aesthetic point of view. It looks very much real, doesn't it? As for the timeline itself - while a lot of things seem implausible, at least the guy seems imaginative. I find the presence of a strange mid-sized Russia rather...

It's rather rare to see a whole alliance coloured with the same colour on such a map, that's why I asked. And by government type, I meant whether it's a federation, a unitary state or anything else; not political ideology :)
