Even though Apartheid in SA may not exist it will not mean that South Africa is racial harmony, I think South Africa would still be working to bridge the divide between different peoples. The percentage of Whites will not be very large as a lot of OTL White South Africans may be in Madagascar or Congo but for the sake of having this political system work lets say its somewhere around 10-15% a little larger than OTL due to South Africa retaining more whites as people would leave after the fall of Apartheid.
[Disclmaer, I am going to use very blunt words to describe SA's racial groups]
For now, I'm going to make the decision that SA has a FPTP system with 400ish seats
Union Party 220/435 Seats
Centre-Right, (Conservatism, Economic Conservatism, Federalisim, Social Conservatsim)
South Africas compassionate conservative party. Economically Conservative but still surprisingly supportive of PJP’s more moderate economic justice plans. Has descended from the original Union Party at South Africa’s founding, been in and out of government since the 1910s. Popular among South African Christians and support is quite even across all racial groups.
Progressive Justice Party 159/435 Seats
Centre-Left, Left-Wing: (Social Democracy, Environmentalism, Anti-Racism, Minority Economic Empowerment)
Result of a Merger between the Justice and Progressive party in the 1990s. The largest advocate for economic realignment to improve the economic wellbeing of South Africa's disadvantaged Races who have lagged behind in average wealth ever since the countries founding. Also an advocate for social liberalism. Mainly popular among more progressive Blacks, Coloureds and a large majority of Asians. Has a sizable base of progressive White voters as well.
Labour Party (Arbeidersparty) 19/435 Seats
Centre (Socialism, Social Conservatism,)
Dethroned by its position of Major party in the 1990s Labour and descended more and more into irrelevancy barely staying above the ANC. Still a sizable force in Parliament though. Has a policy of ignoring race relations and instead focusing on support, however, the Blacks and Coloureds of South Africa have begun to feel ignored by Labour despite its “Colour Blind” Attitude. Socially Conservative as to appeal to Christians, ends up turning off more voters.
ANC 17/435 Seats
Left-Wing (African Nationalism, Anti-Imperialism Social Democracy, Black Economic Empowerment)
The African National Congress has been the original voice for racial economic and social justice since the 1910s. However, its proposals are often labelled as radical and impossible with the occasional accusation of racism. Popular among most impoverished Blacks
National (Nasionale) 9/435 Seats
Right-Wing (Nationalism, Pro-Imperialism, Afrikaner Intrests)
National is a part of and for Afrikaners. A minority of Afrikaners feel disestablished from the government and feel that the attitudes of racial equality being brought up are a threat to their livelihoods. Often promotes and sugar coats colonialism across Africa. Has a bad image across SA however is popular with a sizable amount of Afkinaers in former Transvasall allowing it to hold a handful of seats.
Democratic 6/435 Seats
Centre (Liberalism)
A Party mainly of British South Africans, No clear unique policy or political views so no clear support base, holds a couple of seats in cape town.
African Christian Democratic Party 4/435 Seats
Centre-Right, Right-Wing (Christian Democracy, Social Conservatism)
ACDP is less concerned with racial and economic issues as it is with keeping South African social policy conservative and Christian. Has a base with conservatve christans across all races
Conservative Party (Konserwatiewe Party) 1/435 Seats
Far-Right (White Interests, White Development, White Autonomy)
National but more extreme and with little to no filter. Actively supports white supremacist views and thoughts. Has managed to cling onto a seat in rural South Africa preventing it from leaving parliament.
