Green Party Caucus
  • Linda Tyer [Massachusetts West]

She's... not the best person to represent the Green Party in Massachusetts when it has a larger scope of people to choose from. My two cents. I only choose her because she lived in that specific riding.

OK, so any progress so far? I think we still need to cobble together a list of MPs for one.
I'm kinda waiting on the map to be 100% complete to start that, but there is no reason why I can't start filling out a list of the smaller states in the interim. I'll get to work on that.

Why not Jill Stein?

Stein is a kooko who wouldn't be part of a respectable Green party, she only leads OTL US Greens because the party is only made of the extremes.

Anyway, my time has been reoriented towards Inserts on the map, because people need it, so no South American History right now.

Basing my selections off this and this

1. Tony Hwang (Progressive) [Swing Seat]
2. Bill Finch (Working Families) [Strong WF Seat]
3. George Logan (Progressive) [Strong Progressive Seat]
4. Henri Martin (Progressive) [Swing Seat/Tilt Progressive]
5. Rosa DeLauro (Working Families) [Strong WF Seat]
6. Terry Gerratana (Working Families) [Moderate WF Seat]
7. Beth Bye (Working Families) [Strong WF Seat]
8. Catherine Osten (Working Families) [Moderate WF Seat]
9. John Larson (Working Families) [Moderate WF Seat]

WF: 6 Seats
Prog: 3 Seats

Parties just a guess. It's more for left/right tilt.

(Margin of Victory)
Swing: +/- 3pp
Moderate: 3-7pp
Strong: 7+pp

Here's an MP list (WIP) for New Jersey....

  2. Meadowlands—Bergen North
  3. Newark (Cory Booker - Working Families)
  4. Paramus—Passaic North
  5. Palisades (Josh Gottheimer - Labor)
  6. Paterson—Passaic South (Bill Pascrell - Labor)
  7. Maplewood—The Oranges
  8. Morristown—Bridgewater
  9. Delaware Valley (Leonard Lance - Federalist)
  10. Mendham—Parisppany (Chris Christie - Federalist)
  11. Elizabeth—Union—Clark
  12. Woodbridge—Perth Amboy (Barbara Buono - Working Families)
  13. Trenton
  14. New Brunswick—Plainsboro
  15. Monmouth West
  16. Monmouth Coast (Frank Pallone - Working Families)
  17. Lakewood—Point Pleasant—Toms River North (Chris Smith - Federalist)

  19. Camden Suburbs East
  20. Atlantic City—Cape May (Frank LoBiondo - Federalist)

  22. Camden Suburbs West (Stephen Sweeney - Labor)
  23. City of Camden (Donald Norcross - Labor)
  24. Vineland—Bridgeton

I'm considering expanding the size of the Progressive caucus to about 20 seats (since it is the main third party). Most of their MPs will be out west, but recently a number have been elected in New England, including the 3 on the list @Kanan made.

Here's my proposal so far:

Michael Chong
David Orchard
Greg Orman
Jay Inslee
Steve Bullock
Jon Tester
Ethan Berkowitz
Dan Boren
Tony Hwang
George Logan
Henri Martin

Didn't see the caucus size. Opsie. This makes the most sense. If we are taking some of the same political leanings of OTL, there really isn't another good slot for Connecticut "rightwingers" to rest in. Most Republicans in this state (barring a bunch of loonies that have no viability anywhere except in some small town) are very much Rockefeller types still.

Here you go. Took me all weekend to make. I tried to make each insert an appropriate size you you can accurately see the seats. Later after work, I will Try and do a generic Left/Right color PVI, which we can use to assign people too, which obviously will have to exclude the minor parties until a full cast.

Edit: La Salle is Memphis only French, named after the explorer.

Edit 2: Made a mistake in the Orlando insert, new map.

Edit 3: Miami had two district pieces that needed to be joined, so another new map fixed it. I suspect we might find more of these minor errors if I 'fine-comb' the map, so expect future updates...

Edit 4: How could I forget Cambridge?

OMG That is amazing, thanks so much for making that.

I actually think she would fit perfectly.

I really, really, really don't want to be that guy, but I was kinda thinking over the party system while in class today and some of @Turquoise Blue resonated with me. We still haven't decided upon how many seats the two Alliance parties will have, for example, which complicates the relationship and history. While I originally set out to create something original, I fear this may be a bit more complicated than I intended it to be when I set out now that we're actually assigning MPs to seats.

Don't worry, I am not retconning anything as of right this second, I'm just floating a slightly more steamlined idea for the party system. What about this?

Federalist (Paul Ryan):
Liberal (Kirstin Gillibrand):
Social Democratic & Labor (Justin Trudeau):
Progressive (Michael Chong):
Union Populaire (Marie Landrieu):

Christian Heritage (Ted Cruz):
America First! (Donald Trump):
Green (Elizabeth May):
Libertarian (Justin Amash):
