Paint it Black first Chapter

3 July 1969 (aged 27)
Hartfield, Sussex, England

At around midnight on the night of 2–3 July 1969, Jones was found at the bottom of the swimming pool at Cotchford Farm. His girlfriend, Anna, was scared Jones was dead when he was taken out of the pool, believing he was dead .she turned her head from him refusing to look at his body. However, by the time the doctors arrived he was choking on water Brian jones was as confused to what had happen to him as anyone else.

5 July 1969.
Brian Jones reads the paper, he reads that his former mates the Rlling stones have a done a concert without him.
His replacement is a bloke named mick Taylor.

Brian tears up the paper. "I will show them oh I will show them they don't need me well I don't need them!"
Brian took his guitar.
He was determined to quit his drug use and perform a solo album or form a new band..

The Rolling stones release sticky fingers
Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are driving when had it with you is on radio Rod Stewart is singing the song. the song.. Ginger Baker. John Enwistle of the who also play on the Brian Jones album. Jones plays lead guitar and wrote all the songs..

Brian had married his girlfriend and since the fateful day he almost died he was free of drugs but not over the fact his former band was recording without him..

Brian remembered when the stones was his and not micks and he could not let that go not now or ever.somehow brian wanted the stones back it wasn't fair it was his band as 1971turned into 1972 Brian looked to record with other bands.he was not sure if he would restart with a new band or continue solo the future was uncertain but with the love of his wife and faithfull fans he knew he could handle what ever came in the future.

Nice take on Brian Jones surviving. I've done a couple of threads where this came up. He was a much underrated musician in my opinion, and was treated shabbily by the Stones (as is his memory to this day).

Prior to joining the stones. Mick TAYLOR had played with John Mayell's blues band. Brian Jones drug habit had mad it virtually impossible for him to remain in the group any longer so Mick And Keith fired him. However. Now Mick Taylor had a drug habit,
once a mild spoken man he was now a heroin addict and would very well die if he don't work out his problems. your getting one more chance. Brian screw it up your out mick Jagger told Brian Jones point blank. Keith Richards was not so sure about letting Brian back in the group..
Ron Wood formally of the small faces played with the stones on its only rock in roll and the group was quite impressed. Keith believed it would be better having Ron join rather then invite Brian back in..


May 15, 1976
The Rolling stones released black and Blue. Ron Wood would play guitar on most tracks. Mick would let Brian play on one track he would play lead as well.
Mick gave in to Keith's caution about letting Brian rejoin however for Jones this was vindication for letting him go all these years.
now the stones would tour again.

June 1, 1975

The stones did their tour to support their black and blue album.
Brian would join the stones when they played give me satisfaction.. gimmie shelter and let it bleed/ and time is on our side.
Brian sat in a separate hotel from the group he would get calls from his wife now pregnant with their first born.
bill wyman the stones bassist and Charlie watts called Brian up to congralate him back. although he was more a guest then the leader he once was.
Keith Richard would not speak to Brian at all. Mick would only speak to brian to give instructions/pretty much Ron wood was replacing mick taylor who had originally replaced Brian Jones.

Keith Richards was in legal trouble for much of 1977 because of his heroin trouble.
Mick Jagger decided to finally go solo, his first ever solo album would simply be title Jagger. This frustrated Keith Richards so he came out with a solo album of his own. both would tour on their own for the first time..

Brian jones played day tripper with the Beatles .John Lennon was in the middle of divorcing yoko ono and was seeing a younger woman. Lennon and Jones were spending a lot of time together. Lennon looked forward to going to England where he would see julian for the first time in many years. Lennon invited Jones to go to London with him but he declined.

Brian Jones sat in his apartment and wondered how he could get mick and Keith in the studio to record a album like beggars banquet and return to Chicago blues.
Jones had a tile of a album emotional rescue he did not wont to go for the disco sound like the bee gees Punk Groups like the sex pistols said the Beatles stones were obsolete jones wanted to prove them wrong that he was no old rock dinosaur.

It's a nice change to have an AH story featuring the stones. I have tried writing one myself (following the 1967 drugs bust at Redlands but ran out of ideas)

the blesy classic Indian girl and emotional rescue both had reached the top 40.
the stones went on a successful tour afterword's .
for the rest of the 80s Brian Jones would be releasing albums by group such as Jethro tull. blue oystercult and thin lizzy.

I'm a bit confused about the last sentence - was Jones a member of these groups ITTL?

I'd like to have seen the band return to their roots a lot earlier: AIUI their first real Southside effort for a long time was the superb "Fancy Man Blues", B-side of "Mixed Emotions" in the summer of '89. One of the greatest ever overlooked records.
