Some more work on the Foederata, still looking for names for the federation as a whole. Made a few obvious changes; added provincial names, changed the south-west border a bit. It's pretty busy but I'm debating adding either more cities and roads or primary train lines, or both. (I have an idea in my head that this world has more renewable energy and mass transit than ours, I'll have to run over it with Kirbs) Also changed the date of Foundation as I mixed up some of Kirb's dates regarding the first Skottish(Irish) settlements. Not sure what else I'll write in there, except maybe a writeup in Espanjan in the top right or bottom left, one or the other. That'll be fun, it'll really test me.

That aside, I need to write a wee list of things I need to discuss with Kirbs, might as well be here so I can think on it whilst drifting off to sleep.
- Islam (Yslam?) as a pacifist, ethnic religion in the Arabian Peninsular. (I don't like getting rid of major religions altogether, even if the POD precludes them)
- Slavery as pseudo-contract law. (Slavery is bad, but I don't want this world to be perfect either, that'd be boring)
- Lots and lots of trains. (Dirigibles too? Or is that too steampunky?)
- Economic theory. (Oeconomicista? Some stuff will have to be the same, like theories of accounting, in order to reach the scales of trade that we experience in OTL. But some of the finer details would be fun to play with; and if anyone knows stuff about ancient and medieval economics and potential PODs in it's development, do shoot me a message)

The wikipedia page on skinwalkers says something to the effect of it's disrespectful to Navajo and other Indians when non-Indians take ideas like skinwalkers and appropriate them. So I'd advise not including them in your scenario, but its up to you.
Go tell that to /x/ on 4chan, which has a lot of these sorts of Skinwalker stories. I love me some skinwalkers and Navajo culture by extension, which I treat with as much respect as I would with any other culture.

By that logic, I should tell Neil Gaiman to not write anything to do with the Norse Sagas because of my Danish/Swedish heritage.

This sort of debate/discussion belongs in Chat. It is political as can be and also derails the thread.

Moar updates, and stuff.

Just South Africa and Rhodesia against the world....

Well, Rhodesia *is* a legitimate state in this TL.....

Isn't the Sasquatch an appropriation of Cascadian myth?

This WiP is a bit on the sillier side and has evolved quite a bit since I started. The POD is during the early stages of the Southern Rebellion, and due to several miracles on their part the so-called Confederacy manages to establish itself, though losing some territory. When the shakey detente between the rivaling Imperial Alliance and the Triple Entente turned to war in 1913, the Confederacy, which tended to look favorable towards France, the dominant nation of the Triple Entente, saw its economy tumbling down, since Alliance warships made trade between Richmond and Paris nearly impossible. The rising racial tension in the country finally exploded into a civil war in 1917. A socialist coalition of poor whites (mostly Cajuns, miners, and industrial workers) and black farmers swept through the Deep South, and Texan separatists used the opportunity to push out pro-Confederate officials. Confederate troops managed to hold onto Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina, though Tennessee was cut off from the main strongholds. When the war ended in a stalemate and the People's Republics of Dixie, as the rebels called themselves, had complete control over the Deep South, the Confederacy fell apart. First Tennessee left, then North Carolina, since it feared that maintaining further hostilities towards Dixie would be bad for the border state. Virginia left the Confederacy in 1923, six years after the Confederate Civil War had begun and two years after it had become the last Confederate state.
