Okay, here's the question.
Japan declares war on the US at the end of 1940, only to find its navy utterly annihilated and the home islands occupied by july of 1941 in a comical display of the inferiority of the Japanese navy and army.
Would the high command fight on from Korea and the East Indies (which it did take), or would it surrender with the actual, you know, Japanese home islands taken?
