  1. Flag Continuation 2

    I add a gold border.
  2. Election of 1876 -> New Civil War?

I would love to see a timeline made of this, if only to provide some break from all the US-centric timelines that seem to be so popular on this site.

My only criticisms are the straight internal borders and the flag. The border conveniently follows the current definition of the Cascadian bioregion, though it does look nice on the map. The production quality overall is very good, however. Kudos.
  4. The Alphabetic Bouts of Cartography: Discussion & Entries

You surprised me -- I thought I was ten pages back having seen that image. Yes, the PoD is during Basil's reign, and "Hungaria" doesn't really have that ring to it. To be honest, I gave the state little thought, since I'm not familiar with Hungarian history and assumed that they didn't really...
  5. Flag Thread III

Seconded. Your flags are excellent, and the smaller format makes them more easily viewed.
  6. Felipe IV Dies Childless

What would occur in terms of the Spanish succession Felipe IV manages to become ill and die childless in 1660, leaving the illegitimate Juan Jose as the strongest Spanish claimant to the throne. Do the French and Austrians get involved and attempt to claim the Spanish throne, as they plotted to...
  7. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

EDIT: Never mind. I didn't see there was another page. The Angles should probably be striped in the first map there. So what are we going to do about the horde states? Specifically, what defines a horde state?
  8. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

Here's Goguryeo vassalizing the other Korean states. As you can see, the lack of room to show this is rather constraining.
  9. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

Great. Keep in mind, though, that 475 is one of the few maps which is even close to up-to-date.
  10. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

Wow. I even looked at the map and failed to notice that there are three states in the southern peninsula. Here's the updated version for you: I could color them as vassals, but, as you can see, there may not be sufficient space to do so effectively.
  11. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

Okay. I moved the border, am showing the two southern states as within the cultural area and Goguryeo as the dominant Korean state. I really don't think we need more than one color for Korea, and there is absolutely no need to have more than two. On the note of horde states, I really don't want...
  12. Map Thread X

    Try out this one.

I'm sorry, but stealing lookalike characters from Cyrillic to make imitation fonts just hurts the eyes of those who can actually read it. Consider using an imitation font that doesn't use totally inappropriate characters.
  14. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

Great. I was hoping that it had been settled since then. I'll stick with what I'm doing for the proto-states, since the basemap and actual presence of the states is more important than how they're portrayed.
  15. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

I've been working on the 475 CE map, and I was wondering what the conventions for showing horde states like the Franks and Gepids entail. This is what I have so far.
  16. Project Adolphus

Essentially. I've been wasting my time elsewhere of late, as well. I had really hoped to get something going, but this site's community is (understandably) probably too volatile to manage such a project.
  17. Map Thread X

    Nice jpegs you have there.
  18. Map Thread X

Fantastic. Might I ask how you get the hashed texture at the borders? Inkscape glitches up its pattern fills when I try to do that sort of effect.
  19. Flag Thread III

Before I berate this for terrible vexillology, I should ask what its supposed to be and what the significance of the busy nature of the flag and canton's symbol are. I assume it's the flag of some indigenous nation which OTL was destroyed, but you'll have to elaborate should you expect feedback.
  20. The Alphabetic Bouts Of Cartography, Round C!

Wow. Impressive entries this round. I regret not having the time to enter a map of my own, but I suppose I'll be content with the two titles I have. I want to say I'm allowing others a chance at winning their own titles, but I don't think I could have won this one. Kudos to JJDXB for better...
