0# INTRODUCTION

A poem by the eminent (in OTL) Konstantin Simonov followed by a glimpse into the ATL following its Third World War

4# The Great and Little Gunpowder Plots

Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Boys make merry hell in upcountry New York, while Samuel Adams succumbs to hubris and armed standoffs occur between the colonies over useless tracts of land…

5# The Colonial Bill of Rights

Cohesive, quasi-federal Royal government is adopted inside the Colonies, with Edmund Burke becoming the first Governor-General. The University of Columbia, part of Cambridge University, is founded.

6# The Closest They Ever Came

Riots break out across America against the local Colonial assemblies, propped up by London. A march on Philadelphia is stopped by the great oratory of George Washington. At a Colonial Conference in London all outstanding disputes are however resolved; the colonies now look to their own system of governments (led by James Madison concerning Virginia) and start to form into Confederations or Unions. Carolina, New England and Virginia are the main blocs.

7# The French Divergence

A history of (most of it anyway) Louis XVI's reign, and his reforms of the Judicial system of France, which, together with less debt, averts the French Revolution of 1789.

8# The Second Great War for Empire

A diplomatic incident (which happens in OTL) between Britain and Russia spirals into war. Before long the whole Continent is dragged in; British troops under the Duke of York fail to win in Estonia against the genius General Suvorov.

9# First Blood

The Russians invade (a far stronger thanks to British help) Poland; the French start to bundle in once the Prussians (on the British side, given the British style of making others fight their continental fights for them) threaten Vienna. The Austrians fail to make any headway against the British supported Turks.

10# Annus Horribilis

Spain enters the war on the side of France, Russia and Austria (the Coalition); the Swedes (simply continuing their war with Russia) are driven out of Finland; the Turks are massacred by the Russians at Khotyn; the British Army under Abercrombie and Moore invade the Caribbean with success; the Dutch enter on the Allied side; the Russians win a Pyrrhic victory at the Siege of Brest, massacring the Polish Army under Poniatowski.

11# Surprises and Conquest

The Turks make peace with the Russians; the Polish strike back (at Austria) by taking Galicia; the British take Louisiana; the British almost lose it all in Haiti, with Abercrombie killed and Moore taking up the command; the Royal Navy wins off Toulon.

Britain takes Cuba; the French Navy is annihilated off Martinique in an attempt to stop the British advances in the New World; the Balearics are retaken by Spain, Gibraltar is sieged by the Coalition; the stupidity of Bavaria leads to its absorption by Austria; the French take Antwerp (with a little help from a Corsican Corporal); the Polish halt the Russian advance; the German war degenerates into a slogging match between Prussia, Britain, Austria and France.

Britain seizes Panama; most of Mexico now under British control; the Russians are catastrophically defeated by the Polish Army at the Plains of Jagelonis; Prussia is close to collapse; General Napoleon Bonaparte invades Ireland, with the United Irishmen rising up to support him. Ireland is no longer British. The Polish after their victory invade Austria.

15# Veritable Massacres

Spain fails in her attempt to secure back the Americas and falls to revolution; Viscount Bearsden (Moore) and Bonaparte clash in Ireland after he is recalled; the Polish intervene more and more in Germany against the French (under the genius Lazare Hoche)and Gibraltar falls to Spain.

Benedict Arnold (British General) takes Ecuador and Peru for Britain. Romana, the revolutionary leader, begins his transformation of Spain. Ireland falls back to British control. The Poles win more and more in Hungary against the Austrians.

17# Endgame

A huge British army under Bearsden invades the Continent, outsmarting and overcoming the awaiting French but getting bogged down by the Duc d'Ajaccio (Bonaparte). Hoche is overcome by the Allies in Germany finally. Austria loses catastrophically at Budapest against the Poles.

18# The Ruining of Europe

The Treaty of Geneva is accorded; Prussia is the main loser despite being a victor, and the seeds of her destruction are planted here. Britain gains the Americas, Russia retreats from Europe, the Turks get nothing, the Austrians Bavaria, the French have to pay reparations, the Dutch Republic is reborn and gains the Austrian Netherlands and Poland regains most of her partitioned land. Prussia gains minimal land for her horrible losses.
