This is an old revision of the document!

Major Ideologies

Anarchism

-The philosophy whereby all political authority is denied utterly. This does not extend to the Church, but to all figures of governmental authority. Frequently Anarchism cannot be pure, in the sense that even in a perfect Anarchic society, there will still be gatherings and unions of people, mostly in communes.

Anarcho-Syndicalism

-Largely the same as above, only this philosophy, propogated by a number of Trade-Unionists in Classicist Spain, the expected small scale unions of people are expected to be only in the form of mutual guilds and trade unions. First, main philosophy of the Soviet Union.

Classicism

- This is a political philosophy that aspires to hark back to the political traditions of Ancient Rome. This involves the installation of a Senate and an Emergency leader to fulfill that; however, the process frequently only ends up installing a dictator (excluding the case of the Neapolitan Republic).

Communism

- A variation on Anarchism and Anarcho-syndicalism, the expected gatherings of people in a supposedly authority-less state are Communes, hence the name. Not to be confused with Socialism.

Federalism

- The belief that, in empire's, or large polities, power should be handed down to local assemblies, which in turn send elected representatives to the central government. Common approach in the British Empire, later the Commonwealth and Federation.

Imperialism

- Not strictly an ideology, it refers to the expansionist tendencies of many nation states on the planet, often at the expense of smaller nations/tribes.

Lingualism

- An extreme form of cultural nationalism, whereby minorities are persecuted often for the language that they speak. Excuse for the Lingualism Genocides in the 1850s-1870s.

Logicism

- Devised by Mr Richard Gardner of Great Britain, this belief posits that a state can only achieve and, more importantly, maintain greatness, by conducting the purely necessary, whatever that might be. Stress on 'whatever that might be'- Logicism in its variant forms has leads to the death of millions.

Nationalism

- The belief that the country you were born into is, by that equation, superior to every other country. Prevalent in Europe in the second half of the 19th Century and the 20th Century.

Nihilism

-Often called, colloquially, 'Extreme Anarchism', Nihilism recognised no authority whatsoever, in any form. It is spread via the use of Terrorism.

Socialism

-Heavily associated with the writings of Mr John Cobb of Great Britain, Socialism propagates sharing of wealth and the control of industries by the people, although the last point isnt always taken up. Extremely influential in the British Empire and the southern Mediterranean.
