The prosography of Anglo-Saxon England - A comprehensive list of every recorded denizen of pre-Norman England.

The Domesday Book Online - It's not the most user-friendly site ever, but if you want to know who owned your local ancestral village in 1066 and who had stolen it by 1086, and see what else that particular evil land-grabbing Norman had purloined plotted on a map, it's a rather pleasing archive.

Explore England's Past - ‘Explore England’s Past’ provides free access to 1000s of local history resources including images, transcribed wills and documents and town trails. Areas included are Bristol, Cornwall, County Durham, Derbyshire, Exmoor, Herefordshire, Kent, Oxfordshire, Sussex and Wiltshire.

The Medieval Crop Yields Database - Data on English crop yields from 1211 to 1491.

Greenwood Map of London 1830 - 8 inches to a mile, surveyed by Christopher and John Greenwood 1824 to 1826, with additions to 1830. Access the map by clicking on an image of the complete map, or by using the 5000 place name index.
