Known as the “Revolution of 1800” iOTL, this is where Thomas Jefferson defeated John Adams (and his Vice-Presidential running mate, Aaron Burr) in a hotly-fought election, leading to the first peaceful transfer of power between opposing parties in American history, as well as the Twelfth Amendment. It appears to be a fruitful subject for alternate history speculation.
