West Virginia is pretty much all mountains. Oddly enough, for all the loyalty shown during that spasm of internal dissent, West Virginia has become more "southern" than [[offtopic:Virginia]], complete with people in the bush, and other things. West Virginia, with its Appalachian hillbillies, supposedly preserves a Shakespearean form of English in its more isolated regions.
