Worldwar: East Prussia?

To add to the great list of problems with Harry Turtledoves series, I wonder what happened to East Prussia. I would hardly think that Germany, and Hitler for that matter, would surrender such an important chuck of German land. Can someone create a map that shows a more likely outcome?

I am not saying that the Worldwar series is bad, I really enjoy reading about the Race invasion, but this is just one bit that confused me.

Yeah the borders at the end don't really make sense.
