WI Julius Constantius claims the Purple in 337 AD?

Emperor Constantine I favored his half-brother Julius Constantius by naming him a Patrician and by appointing him Consul in 335. When Constantine died on 22 May 337 , Julius Constantius was in position to claim the throne for himself. He was murdered within months of Constantine's death along with most males of their family by orders of his nephew Constantius II who lured him into a trap ans assassinated him...
WI Constantius who was in a power position and had the loyalty of some Legions avoids being assassinated and made his bid for power then? (as sole Emperor which i highly doubt it or claim a share of the Empire along with his nephews?) Could this lead to a renewed Tetrarchy?
Is this possible? How is this altering History? Any thoughts?
