Saturday Morning AU Blocks

It's okay, they could distribute it in the US.
Ok.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Just what I wanted to hear.

Not surprised.

It can move to Turnerama's preschool block, whatever that channel or block is called ITTL, as an exclusive show for the rest of its run.

Okay.

Not surprised. In that case, perhaps Mopatop's Shop can find a slot next year after all.

Okay.
Ok. Also, the lineup for 2001.

9:30: A Pup Named Scooby-Doo (Hanna-Barbera)
10:00: The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show (Warner Bros. Animation) [2]
11:00: Slimer! and the Real Ghostbusters (DiC Entertainment; Columbia Pictures Television)
12:00: Animal Crack-Ups (ABC Productions)
12:30: ABC Weekend Special

CBS
8:00: The Adventures of Raggedy Ann and Andy (CBS Productions)
8:30: Jim Henson's Muppet Babies (Marvel Productions; Jim Henson Productions) [3]
9:30: Pee-wee's Playhouse (Pee-wee Pictures)
10:00: Garfield and Friends (Film Roman)
10:30: Superman (Warner Bros. Animation) [4]
11:00: Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures (CBS Productions; Terrytoons)
11:30: Hey Vern, It's Ernest! (DiC Entertainment)
12:00: Galaxy High (TMS Entertainment) [5]
12:30: CBS Storybreak (Hanna-Barbera; CBS Productions)

NBC
8:00: The Smurfs (Hanna-Barbera)
9:00: Adventures of the Gummi Bears (Walt Disney Television Animation)
9:30: Kissyfur (DiC Entertainment; Saban Entertainment; NBC Productions)
10:00: The Chipmunks (DiC Entertainment; Bagdasarian Productions)
10:30: ALF: The Animated Series (DiC Entertainment, Alien Productions)
11:00: ALF Tales (DiC Entertainment; Alien Productions)
11:30: The Super Mario Bros. (Universal Television; Nintendo of America) [6]
12:00: The Legend of Zelda (Universal Television; Nintendo of America) [7]
12:30: The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley (Hanna-Barbera)

[1] Nelvana's Clifford cartoon was a series of direct-to-video educational specials IOTL. Tell me its theme song didn't deserve a better home in 1988.
[2] Warner Bros. does not sell off their pre-1950 studio library, instead preferring to distribute it themselves when TV became a household necessity.
[3] Muppet Babies moves to 8:30 so Superman can have a more appropriate timeslot for its premiere.
[4] Speaking of which, that show is WBA's first Superman-centric cartoon. They were the ones to make the Super Friends series instead of Hanna-Barbera, but this would be their first real attempt at adapting one of DC's heroes.
[5] I just thought Galaxy High deserved better than the fate it got. No, I will not elaborate.
[6] Because of the Universal vs. Nintendo lawsuit, the saviors of the gaming industry see promise in their old legal adversary. As such, they choose Universal to animate their games into cartoons, leaving DiC Entertainment and especially Heyward's advances out cold.
[7] As an added result, while the Zelda cartoon does take some influence from Dungeons and Dragons, it still remembers that it's based on The Legend of Zelda, not a revival of the 1983 Marvel cartoon hounded by packs of legal firms.

What do you think?

And I'll get to your schedule grid later, @Otakuninja2006.

I told you I'd get to you later. Here you go.
Saturday Mornings in a old abandoned TL idea for 2001

ABC(JETIX) - Touchstone Corporation
8:00: Super Dumo Sumos - (DiC Entertainment)
8:30: Connor the Inventor - (Studio Comet; Saban Entertainment)
9:00: Super Time Commandos - (Toei; Saban Entertainment)
9:30: Squad Q: Millennium Wars - (Toei Animation; Saban Entertainment)
10:00: The Comet - (Archie Comics; DiC Entertainment)
10:30: Gorpherzeen - (JCStaff; Saban Entertainment)
11:00: Mon Colle Knights - (Studio Deen; Saban Entertainment)
11:30: Shinzo - (Toei Animation; Saban Entertainment)
12:00: The Zack Files - (Cinegroupe; Saban Entertainment)

12:30: Big Wolf On Campus - (CineGroupe; Saban Entertainment)
And now, we're seeing a lineup more fitting of the Jetix label. Super Duper Sumos, Super Commandos, Squad Q, Mon Colle Knights, and Shinzo certainly pack the action side of Saturday Mornings with pizzazz.
CBS(YAY!) - CBS Corporation
7:00: Maggie and the Ferocious Beast - (Nelvana)
7:30: Harold and the Purple Crayon - (Columbia TriStar Pictures Television Animation; Columbia TriStar Pictures Television)
8:00: Dragon Tales - (Columbia TriStar Pictures Television Animation; Columbia TriStar Pictures Television)
8:30: Corduroy - (Nelvana)
9:00: Courage the Cowardly Dog - (Stretch Films; Columbia TriStar Pictures Television Animation; Columbia TriStar Pictures Television)
9:30: The Weekenders - (Columbia TriStar Pictures Television Animation; Columbia TriStar Pictures Television)
10:00: Cardcaptor Sakura - (Clamp; Adelaide Studios; Columbia TriStar Pictures Television)
10:30: Jackie Chan Adventures - (Columbia TriStar Pictures Television Animation; Columbia TriStar Pictures Television)
11:00: Heavy Gear: The Animated Series - (Columbia TriStar Pictures Television Animation; Columbia TriStar Pictures Television)
11:30: Max Steel - (Mattel; Mainframe Entertainment; Columbia TriStar Pictures Television Animation; Columbia TriStar Pictures Television)
12:00: Time Squad - (Columbia TriStar Pictures Television Animation; Columbia TriStar Pictures Television)
12:30: George Shrinks - (Nelvana)
There isn't an undeserving veteran in the bunch.

Unfortunately, the liabilities and the safe picks are nearly equal for the newcomers. Personally speaking, I'd keep Harold and the Purple Crayon, Time Squad, and maybe George Shrinks for 2002. Corduroy and Heavy Gear might not get my vote, though.
NBC(Kids' WB!) - TimeWarner
8:00: The Slappy Squirrel Show - (Amblin Entertainment; Warner Bros. Television Animation)
8:30: The Quest for Camelot - (Warner Bros. Television Animation)
9:00: Cats Don't Dance: The Series - (Warner Bros. Television Animation)
9:30: Space Invaders- (Namco; Mainframe Entertainment; Warner Bros. Television Animation)
10:00: Justice League - (DC Comics; Warner Bros. Television Animation)

10:30: Static Shock - (DC Comics; Warner Bros. Television Animation)
11:00: The Iron Giant: The Series - (Warner Bros. Television Animation)
11:30: Centipede - (Warner Bros. Television Animation)
12:00: Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat - (Cinegroupe; Sesame Workshop)
12:30: Tiny Robots - (Sesame Workshop)
It's great that Slappy Squirrel is still on Kids WB, but even I think it might be time to retire the character, the show, and the Animaniacs universe for a while.

However, Static Shock, The Iron Giant, and Centipede might have some life in them. Especially Static Shock.

Six new shows is a surprise. Quest for Camelot, Cats Don't Dance, Space Invaders, Justice League, Sagwa, and Tiny Robots. I'd absolutely keep Justice League, discard Tiny Robots, and keep the other four for a second season at minimum. The fact that Mainframe is helping on the Space Invaders cartoon does help all parties.
TBS(One Saturday Morning) - Turner-Disney Entertainment
7:00: Bear in the Big Blue House - (Jim Henson Television)
7:30: Mopatop's Shop - (Jim Henson Television)
8:00: Rolie Polie Olie - (Nelvana; Sparx*; FranceTelevisions)
8:30: Construction Site - (Jim Henson Television)
9:00: House of Toons - (Disney HB)
9:30: Pokemon - (Nintendo; OLM; Streamline Pictures)
10:00: The Powerpuff Girls - (Disney HB)
10:30: X-Men: Evolution - (Marvel Studios; Disney HB)
11:00: Daredevil: The Animated Series - (Marvel Studios; Disney HB)
11:30: The Legend of Tarzan - (Disney HB)
12:00: Ultra-G - (Tsuburaya Productions; Turner Television)

12:30: Even Stevens - (Brookwell McNamara Entertainment; Disney Television)
Everything that can be kept in already has. Highlights include Bear, HoT, Pokemon, and PPG. Although, come to think of it, Streamline Pictures dubbing Pokemon automatically gives them a brighter future, or at least a bigger legacy.

Also, Even Stevens reruns do help pad out the schedule.

Construction Site, that's one I haven't heard of. Although, Daredevil, The Legend of Tarzan, and the latest Ultraman dub do help give them a run for the action money.
UPN(UPN Kidzone) - USA Communications
7:00: Dora the Explorer - (Games Animation)
7:30: Little Bill - (Games Animation)
8:00: Bob the Builder - (HiT Entertainment)
8:30: The New Woody Woodpecker Show - (USA Cartoon Studios)
9:00: Crash Bandicoot - (Naughty Dog; Sega-Bandai; USA Cartoon Studios)
9:30: Spyro the Dragon - (Naughty Dog; Sega-Bandai; USA Cartoon Studios)
10:00: Digimon Tamers - (Sega-Bandai; TMS Entertainment; ADV Films)
10:30: Sonic The Hedgehog - (Sega-Bandai; Sunrise; ADV Films)
11:00: Commander of Braves - (Sega-Bandai; Sunrise; ADV Films)
11:30: Fat Dog Mendoza - (Dark Horse Comics; USA Cartoon Studios)
Dora the Explorer, Little Bill, and Bob the Builder. Already a great start.

The return of Woody Woodpecker, Crash, and Spyro is a good thing as well. Probably gives the newer shows greater competition, actually.

The latest season of the Digimon anime, an earlier Sonic anime, the newest Brave anime, and Fat Dog Mendoza. I don't see faith in Mendoza sticking around UPN much longer.
FOX(Fox Kids) - 20th Century Fox
8:00: Rugrats - (Klasky-Csupo; Fox Television Animation)
8:30: The Wild Thornberrys - (Klasky-Csupo; Fox Television Animation)
9:00: Phineas and Ferb - (Fox Television Animation)
9:30: The Fairly OddParents - (Frederator Studios; Fox Television Animation)
10:00: Yu-Gi-Oh!: Duel Monsters - (Toei Animation; Saban Entertainment)
10:30: Transformers: New Beast Wars - (Ashi Productions; Saban Entertainment)

11:00: Mina and the Count - (Frederator Studios; Fox Television Animation)
11:30: Rocket Power - (Klasky-Csupo; Fox Television Animation)

Thoughts?
Yu-Gi-Oh! and a Transformers anime? If those are the anime offerings for Fox Kids this year, I'll take them. And yet, they compliment each other well when surrounded by Klasky-Csupo and Frederator programs.

  2. Wouldn't it be better to have Yu-Gi-Oh! and Evangelion switch slots??

  • 4 slots go to WF
  • 4 slots go to ABC
It's a tie between WF and ABC.

I would have chosen Yu-Gi-Oh! if it wasn't directly against DBZ, which will have probably already been throughout about 208 episodes by the end of the season.
Welp, I guess I didn’t look into it that much.

I’ll probably make a third version just for good measure.
Ok.
United Artists gets Discovery Kids from Disney after it buys Discovery - and it relaunches as The Hub in tandem with the launch of the Nothin’ But Cool block.
Cool.
You really like Dragon Ball Z don’t ya?
Yes I do!
Me too!

I decided that thanks to the Viacom Interactive partnership, Viacom/Duality would expand to other deals such as a Mario series.
Nice.
For me:
  • 7:00 AM: Looney Tunes
  • 7:30 AM: Looney Tunes
  • 8:00 AM: Animaniacs
  • 8:30 AM: Dexter’s Laboratory
  • 9:00 AM: The Ren & Stimpy Show (the main star of the TL)
  • 9:30 AM: Rugrats
  • 10:00 AM: The Incredible Hulk
  • 10:30 AM: Spider-Man: The Animated Series
  • 11:00 AM: Dragon Ball Z
  • 11:30 AM: Dragon Ball Z or Neon Genesis Evangelion (if only out of morbid fascination of the latter)
  • 12:00 AM: Super Mario Adventures (I’m a Mario fan)
  • 12:30 AM: Donkey Kong Country (ITTL it’s better and no uncanny animation)
Ok, but I think that DKC found it's funniess due to it's animation and comedy, but if it's better, then that's even better!
Right.

OK
Ok.
Right now UA’s anime content is sparse. Their only real hits are Full Metal Panic, Super Milk Chan, Popee the Performer, Bakugan and Cybersix. All air on a late night block on The Hub along with TTL’s Clone High.
What is Popee the Performer? And ain't Cybersix and Bakugan kid shows?
Once Challenger Animation replaces United Artists Animation as UA’s main animation division - expect an explosion of content on both NBC and The Hub.
Nice.
It is cancelled after one season, just like OTL’s C Bear and Jamal.
Ok.
Okay. Let's see what it's like for now.

Now this is an even split. My personal favorite new show here is an Alex Kidd cartoon by Hanna-Barbera. From my perspective, that is a juxtaposition beyond comparison.

My one question for this lineup is: What is The Supernaturals about?

The lineup looks solid. Although the back half does surprise me with Kitaro, a live-action Gran Turismo SatAM series, and Yume no Crayon Oukoku in it.

Dividing between pre and post-1948 for the Looney Tunes hour is a great idea if you ask me.

In spite of its timeslot, I think The Mr. Potato Head Show might be better remembered ITTL.

I'd say using the direct-to-video Pocahontas sequel and stretching it out to an episodic TV show sounds about right.

That new American Tail series sounds good, and it does make use of the two unexpected sequels.

But I am surprised that both Hank and the Hustlemen and what I can only assume is a cross between Invader Zim and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac air on broadcast television.

It's your call, though. I have no place to judge your choices.

For me, it would be:

7:00: Bear in the Big Blue House (BVB) or Blue's Clues (UPN)
7:30: Fievel's Great American Stories (UPN) or Looney Tunes (WFN)
8:00: Mickey's Wacky World (BVB), Animaniacs (WFN), or PB&J Otter (ABC)
8:30: The New Woody Woodpecker Show (UPN) or Rolie Polie Olie (ABC)
9:00: Doug (ABC) or Rugrats (UPN)
9:30: Hey Arnold! (UPN), Power Rangers (WFN), or Pepper Ann (BVB)
10:00: Mina and the Count (ABC)
10:30: The Powerpuff Girls (ABC) or Superman: TAS (WFN)
11:00: Sailor Moon (ABC) or Zelda: TAS (UPN)
11:30: The Pink Panther (NBC), Dragon Ball Z (CBS), or Yu-Gi-Oh! (WFN)
12:00: All Dogs Go to Heaven: The Series (NBC), Histeria! (WFN), A Goofy World (BVB), or Super Mario Adventures (UPN)
12:30: Alex Kidd (ABC), Oggy and the Cockroaches (CBS), or Donkey Kong Country (UPN)

10 AM is the only slot that I'd stick with my first choice on. Nearly everywhere else has two or three options available, and 12 PM has four shows I'd want to watch.
Cool.
Ok.
It’s a show about a amateur paranormal investigator in school who secretly teams up undercover with a clique of goth kids - who are shocked that their magic spell book is actually capable of magic.

Gran Turismo: The Series isn’t live action - that was a mistake on my part. It’s an animated series produced by Screen Gems.
Cool!

I'd really watch The Supernaturals if it wasn't up against DBZ.
And it won’t become lost media.

Disney makes virtually no direct-to-video sequels ITTL. They are generally in a healthier financial situation ITTL’s 1998 rather than OTL’s 1998.
Ok.
But expect the biggest changes to BVB/Disney Channel to come in 1999…..
OOOooohhhhhh..........

I can't wait to see these!
They air in daytime slots when older kids are watching. Hank is later removed.
Nice, but why Hank?
You are correct in that My Cousin Johnny has elements of both Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and Invader Zim - but My Cousin Johnny is very different from both of these series combined.
Cool! Does it do well with older kids and teenagers?
I'd watch that.

Great!

That's a plus.

On the plus side, the DTV market isn't muddled with lazy cashgrabs from major studios. Either from Disney, Don Bluth, or Universal.

Okay. May I request a Disney Princess anthology series, to air between 7 and 9 AM, sometime before 2002, to repurpose the abandoned concepts that went into Belle's Magical World, Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True, and the Enchanted Tales direct-to-video-line from the late-2000s?

I know it might be a lofty request, but it's better than making a lot of one-season Princess spinoffs.

That tracks.

Good point, although I would have also guessed that it was different from both of them with the title you chose to combine them with.

Thanks.
Ok.

Overall, you did great @THEKINGFISH217!

Saturday Morning Schedules for 1988-89 (for a semi-utopian timeline)
Cool. What would the TL be about?
ABC
8:00: Clifford the Big Red Dog (Nelvana; Scholastic) [1]
8:30: The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (Walt Disney Television Animation)
9:30: A Pup Named Scooby-Doo (Hanna-Barbera)
10:00: The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show (Warner Bros. Animation) [2]
11:00: Slimer! and the Real Ghostbusters (DiC Entertainment; Columbia Pictures Television)
12:00: Animal Crack-Ups (ABC Productions)
12:30: ABC Weekend Special
Cool.
CBS
8:00: The Adventures of Raggedy Ann and Andy (CBS Productions)
8:30: Jim Henson's Muppet Babies (Marvel Productions; Jim Henson Productions) [3]
9:30: Pee-wee's Playhouse (Pee-wee Pictures)
10:00: Garfield and Friends (Film Roman)
10:30: Superman (Warner Bros. Animation) [4]
11:00: Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures (CBS Productions; Terrytoons)
11:30: Hey Vern, It's Ernest! (DiC Entertainment)
12:00: Galaxy High (TMS Entertainment) [5]
12:30: CBS Storybreak (Hanna-Barbera; CBS Productions)
Nice, but how does Galaxy High last longer?
NBC
8:00: The Smurfs (Hanna-Barbera)
9:00: Adventures of the Gummi Bears (Walt Disney Television Animation)
9:30: Kissyfur (DiC Entertainment; Saban Entertainment; NBC Productions)
10:00: The Chipmunks (DiC Entertainment; Bagdasarian Productions)
10:30: ALF: The Animated Series (DiC Entertainment, Alien Productions)
11:00: ALF Tales (DiC Entertainment; Alien Productions)
11:30: The Super Mario Bros. (Universal Television; Nintendo of America) [6]
12:00: The Legend of Zelda (Universal Television; Nintendo of America) [7]
12:30: The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley (Hanna-Barbera)
Okay, for the Nintendo shows alone, NBC wins that hour.
Cool. And I assume WBA start making shows earlier than 1990?
[5] I just thought Galaxy High deserved better than the fate it got. No, I will not elaborate.
Oh........Forget what I said about it then....
[6] Because of the Universal vs. Nintendo lawsuit, the saviors of the gaming industry see promise in their old legal adversary. As such, they choose Universal to animate their games into cartoons, leaving DiC Entertainment and especially Heyward's advances out cold.
Nice, but I think DiC come to bite back in a few years with Sega.........
[7] As an added result, while the Zelda cartoon does take some influence from Dungeons and Dragons, it still remembers that it's based on The Legend of Zelda, not a revival of the 1983 Marvel cartoon hounded by packs of legal firms.

What do you think?
Overall, it's nice.
And I'll get to your schedule grid later, @Otakuninja2006.
I told you I'd get to you later. Here you go.
Ok.
And now, we're seeing a lineup more fitting of the Jetix label. Super Duper Sumos, Super Commandos, Squad Q, Mon Colle Knights, and Shinzo certainly pack the action side of Saturday Mornings with pizzazz.

There isn't an undeserving veteran in the bunch.
Yep.
Unfortunately, the liabilities and the safe picks are nearly equal for the newcomers. Personally speaking, I'd keep Harold and the Purple Crayon, Time Squad, and maybe George Shrinks for 2002. Corduroy and Heavy Gear might not get my vote, though.
Well, the last two shows won't last anyway.
It's great that Slappy Squirrel is still on Kids WB, but even I think it might be time to retire the character, the show, and the Animaniacs universe for a while.
It's the show's last season.

Right, but Tiny Robots will probably stick around.

And Iron Giant and Centipede is on their last season. And The Iron GIant DOES get a second movie, Centipede gets a new game AND Brad Bird makes The Incredibles with WB ITTL.

Right. And Construction Site is a Jim Henson show.

And PPG is on it's last season.
Dora the Explorer, Little Bill, and Bob the Builder. Already a great start.

The return of Woody Woodpecker, Crash, and Spyro is a good thing as well. Probably gives the newer shows greater competition, actually.
Right, and Woody and Crash is on their last season.

Well, Crash might last a bit longer. We'll see.
The latest season of the Digimon anime, an earlier Sonic anime, the newest Brave anime, and Fat Dog Mendoza. I don't see faith in Mendoza sticking around UPN much longer.
Yep. And FDM will last until 2003. After that, it's either more ani...........

Damnit, I forgot Alienators and The Mummy..............

They'll be on next season.
Yu-Gi-Oh! and a Transformers anime? If those are the anime offerings for Fox Kids this year, I'll take them. And yet, they compliment each other well when surrounded by Klasky-Csupo and Frederator programs.
Right. but this is Mina and Phineas and Ferb's last season. And Fox brought Saban, so expect a relaunch next season.

Cool.

  1. Cool. And I see that you're only focusing on the popular stuff.
That way ABC can have the required E/I content.

The other stations besides NBC, not so much.
  1. Nice Toonami section. How long does the Alex Kidd series last? Does this lead to a new Alex Kidd game?
It lasts 3 seasons. Yes it does lead to a new Alex Kidd game for the Sega Neptune (OTL’s Sega Dreamcast) - but it’s not a major franchise for Sega. More like medium sized.
  1. So anime finna get REAAALLLLLLLL big huh?
Yep. But with healthy competition from both family-friendly and mature adult animation,
  1. Still seems to be less appeal, but what is Robocop: Low Life Streets and The Supernaturals?
See my other post for The Supernaturals. Robocop: Low Life Streets is a better continuation of the Robocop franchise.
  1. I see we got some more anime.
But expect the 1999-2000 season to replace both shows with a certain pirate anime about a guy that’s gonna be King.
  1. Which incarnation of GeGeGe no Kitaro is it? The 90s one? That franchise gets a new series literally every decade. They must really like it in Japan.
90s version
  1. We even got a girl anime, nice.
  2. I'd assume DBZ is kicking the ASS of EVERYONE in it's slot huh? And is DBZ still the major show it was IOTL? And yes! I REALLY DO like Dragon Ball Z!
  3. Cool to see Gran Turismo get a show.
  4. Nice having Oggy around.
OK.
  1. Cool.
  2. Wouldn't it be better to have Yu-Gi-Oh! and Evangelion switch slots??
Probably.
  1. I'd assume that the Elyra spin-off wouldn't exist ITTL?
WB was aware of Evangelion’s mature themes, so they kept the old shows around to fall back on if all hell breaks loose.

IT DOES
  1. Cool.
  2. So I guess Hulk and Spider-Man gets another season?
Yeah, last season for both.
  1. Nice. Woody comes out a year earlier.
  2. Cool the schedule is largely the same.
  3. My Cousin Johnny, the Alien Conqueror? Cool.
OK.
It's awesome!
  • 7AM: Schoolhouse Rock(ABC)
  • 7:30AM: Looney Tunes(WF)
  • 8AM: Animaniacs!(WF)
  • 8:30AM: New Woody Woodpecker(UPN)/Pinky and the Brain(WF)
  • 9AM: Doug(ABC)
  • 9:30AM: Dexter(ABC)
  • 10AM: My Cousin Johnny(UPN)
  • 10:30AM: Superman(WF)
  • 11AM-12PM: A FULL HOUR OF DBZ!(CBS)
  • 12PM: Mario(UPN)
  • 12:30PM: Alex Kidd(ABC)
Here:
  • 2 slots go to CBS
  • 3 slots go to UPN
  • 4 slots go to WF
  • 4 slots go to ABC
It's a tie between WF and ABC.
Cool!
I would have chosen Yu-Gi-Oh! if it wasn't directly against DBZ, which will have probably already been throughout about 208 episodes by the end of the season.

Ok.

Cool.

Yes I do!
Sweet! I tried getting into DB but I didn’t know where to start. Is it the original series from 1986? Z from 1989?
Nice.

Ok, but I think that DKC found it's funniess due to it's animation and comedy, but if it's better, then that's even better!
Great!
Ok.

What is Popee the Performer? And ain't Cybersix and Bakugan kid shows?
Well The Hub also has a kid’s anime block.
Nice.

Ok.

Cool.

Ok.

Cool!

I'd really watch The Supernaturals if it wasn't up against DBZ.
OK.
Ok.

OOOooohhhhhh..........

I can't wait to see these!

Nice, but why Hank?

Cool! Does it do well with older kids and teenagers?
It does really well. Runs 5 seasons from 1998 until 2003.
Ok.

Overall, you did great @THEKINGFISH217!
Thanks again @Otakuninja2006 !

Cool. What would the TL be about?
Nothing specific. In fact, I didn't even think of what the surrounding timeline is about. This is just me improving the 1988 SatAM season by erasing the few flops it had.
Nice, but how does Galaxy High last longer?
Because an American representative of TMS told CBS not to intentionally hide their breakout US cartoon, or they'll tell DiC not to deal with CBS anymore.

That, and because I needed some filler for that empty slot I had.
Okay, for the Nintendo shows alone, NBC wins that hour.
And ALF gains a few new fans by association, seemingly giving Paul Fusco his intended finale.
Cool. And I assume WBA start making shows earlier than 1990?
I already said they distribute their own stuff in the 50s television landscape, and they create the Super Friends franchise instead of HB, so of course they start making shows earlier than 1990.
Oh........Forget what I said about it then....
It's okay. You wanted a reason, and I gave you one.
Nice, but I think DiC come to bite back in a few years with Sega.........
Are you kidding? Because of this, Sonic won't be the only Sega property handled by DiC.
Overall, it's nice.
Thanks.
Well, the last two shows won't last anyway.
Fair enough.
It's the show's last season.
No argument there.
Right, but Tiny Robots will probably stick around.
Yep. Gotta get that E/I quota mapped out.
And Iron Giant and Centipede is on their last season. And The Iron GIant DOES get a second movie, Centipede gets a new game AND Brad Bird makes The Incredibles with WB ITTL.
It's not all bad. The Iron Giant gets a sequel, Centipede has a new game, and The Incredibles can be WB's next cartoon based on a movie.
Right. And Construction Site is a Jim Henson show.
I guessed that out rather quickly.
And PPG is on it's last season.
Okay. Does Foe Paws move into its old slot, does it get an earlier time, or does it air later?
Right, and Woody and Crash is on their last season.
Spyro's days are numbered, I take it.
Well, Crash might last a bit longer. We'll see.
Depends.
Yep. And FDM will last until 2003. After that, it's either more ani...........

Damnit, I forgot Alienators and The Mummy..............

They'll be on next season.
It's okay. If anything, delaying the launches of those two shows keeps the properties fresh for longer.
Right. but this is Mina and Phineas and Ferb's last season. And Fox brought Saban, so expect a relaunch next season.
Okay.

That way ABC can have the required E/I content.

Cool, but I have a hick about that. One Piece only premiered in Japan in 1999, same as Yu-Gi-Oh! only coming out in 1998, both came out in the Fall. I think the best bet would be to wait until 1999 or 2000 for Yu-Gi-Oh! and 2000 or 2001 for One Piece.
90s version

OK.

Probably.
Ok.
WB was aware of Evangelion’s mature themes, so they kept the old shows around to fall back on if all hell breaks loose.

IT DOES
OH SHIT!
Yeah, last season for both.

OK.

Cool!
Ok.

I think Z would be the best place to start.

Nice. And you're welcome.

Nothing specific. In fact, I didn't even think of what the surrounding timeline is about. This is just me improving the 1988 SatAM season by erasing the few flops it had.
Ok.
Because an American representative of TMS told CBS not to intentionally hide their breakout US cartoon, or they'll tell DiC not to deal with CBS anymore.
Was this IOTL or just ITTL?

But that's a good thing!
That, and because I needed some filler for that empty slot I had.

I'm thinking it's a cable exclusive.
Spyro's days are numbered, I take it.
Not really.
Depends.

It's okay. If anything, delaying the launches of those two shows keeps the properties fresh for longer.

Okay.
Ok.

11:30 AM -

12:00 PM - Donald Duck and Friends (Walt Disney Television Animation, Grantray-Lawrence Animation) [In COLOR]
12:30 PM -

11:00 AM -
Astro Boy (Mushi Production, Fantasia Productions, Walt Disney Television)
11:30 AM - Gigantor (TCJ, Fantasia Productions, Walt Disney Television)

Much like my last schedule, this is part of a larger timeline (and yes Buddy Holly lives). ITTL, a Walt Disney less disillusioned with Hollywood reorganizes the Disney company in 1964. Walt Disney Productions' animation division is split up into two wings: Walt Disney Feature Animation handling animated movies and shorts, and newly-established Walt Disney Television Animation.

A whopping six new animated series are produced by the nascent studio. Two of them - The Sword in the Stone and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh respectively - are considered the most prestigious of the new series - animation quality is only slightly inferior to their theatrical animation counterparts and they have the largest overall budgets of them all. Meanwhile, the other four series bear a highly abstract limited animation art style (though much more akin to UPA than Hanna-Barbera), with more emphasis on strong posing and very quick movements - much like the (ATL) Disney theatrical shorts produced between 1956 and 1973. Many of these series' episodes are outsourced to Grantray-Lawrence Animation to further reduce costs.

Finally, due to an alternate meeting between Walt Disney and Osamu Tezuka in 1964, Disney establishes a dubbing unit for foreign animation called Fantasia Productions - in reference to Disney's Fantasia (1940) and its then-revolutionary sound system. Two series from Japan - Astro Boy and Gigantor - and one series from Europe - The Smurfs - are the initial programs dubbed by Fantasia Productions to air on Saturday mornings.

Thoughts, anyone?

Thoughts, anyone?
If Winnie the Pooh is a TV series first, does this mean The Rescuers is given a slightly bigger budget for its 1977 release?

What would a Buddy Holly series by Disney even look like? I genuinely want to know.

What else airs alongside Honey Halfwitch at 11:00 AM? Does Sir Blur get more recognition in this timeline?

Both DePatie-Freleng and CJP are credited alongside Warner Bros. Cartoons. Does this mean the mid-to-late 60s Looney Tunes air first on television?

What makes Chip & Dale different from Donald Duck & Friends? Is it just airing different shorts than its predecessor?

Gnomeo and Juliet is a 60s Disney cartoon? I know a lot would change, but exactly how much would?

Fantasia Productions starts off with Astro Boy, Gigantor, and The Smurfs. How can that be topped?

Also, since Hanna-Barbera doesn't have the Smurfs license in the 80s, does this mean they don't have a hit in that decade?

I see that you can schedule this lineup around Disney and only have room for the other studios at 8, 8:30, and 10 AM. Was this intentional on your behalf?

Because of the TV animation wing, does this mean there are new-to-TTL Disney shorts in the 60s and 70s?

Since Grantray-Lawrence is the outsourcing studio Disney chooses, who helps Marvel for their Spider-Man cartoon of the time?

Since Fantasia Productions pulls from outside Japan, does this mean European animation becomes more well-known thanks to Walt Disney's global reach?

Finally, are The Smurfs, Bugs Bunny, Magilla Gorilla, Captain Kangaroo, and The Jetsons also broadcast in color in 1965?

Cool. Could Disney eventually buy Grantray-Lawrence?
