Politisa(Alliance of European States)
Brief History;
The organization known as Politisa, or the Alliance of European States, started in the 1860's with a series of revolutions against the monarchs Spain, Portugal, France, Austria, Britain, and Russia. Although the revolt against the Russian Tsar failed, the others were successful.
The survivors fled to their colonies where they formed an alliance against the revolutionary governments. The Revolutionaries, in return, formed an alliance of their own. The war, known as the First Great War, raged until 1912 and resulted in almost all of Africa falling to the Revolutionary States.
In the interwar period the newly created Alliance of European States expanded into Prussia and the Italian Peninsula, and adding three more nations to the Alliance. In 2027 the Alliance invaded the Ottoman Empire and pushed it out of Europe. The conquered territory would eventually be reorganized into the State of Byzantium.
Also during the interwar period, starting in 1917, the AES began the African Civilization Project; the term used for the systematic extermination of the Native African population, to make way for European Colonization.
In 1938 the Alliance of European States started using the term Politisa (derived from
Politismós ) to describe the region's under its control. In 1956 the AES Council approved Politish; a new language created to establish a more unified culture. Despite resistance, it was the dominant language of Politisa by 2010.
Territory disputes between New Albion and the AES over Greenland resulted in a skirmish between the two off the coast of Greenland in 1942. New Albion defeated the AES fleet and in exchange the AES threatened further military action. President Robert Newton of the United States warned the AES against action in the Americas, citing the United American Defense Organization.
On February 2nd, 1943 the AES declared war on New Albion, and on February 3rd, they launched a surprise attack on New York, resulting in the death of 6,582 Americans. The AES Council hoped that it would discourage American intervention in the European-Albion Conflict. Instead, the Great War began.
When the ceasefire was declared Iceland was occupied by the UADO, while the AES pushed further into South Africa.
In the same year that the Politisman Council approved the creation of Politish it also started the South Politisma Project to carve Africa into states to be on equal footing with those in Europe. By 1956 the original African population outside of South Africa had been reduced to 1% of what it was in 1917, and the European population was rapidly expanding.
The new nations created were named after high-ranking military officials who served in the Second Great War, with the exception of Alexandria and Armelle. All cities, towns, and geographical locations were renamed after soldiers and figures in European History.
Culture
The citizens of Politisa are divided into three classes: Class 1, 2, and 3.
Class 1: To be born into this class a person must have at least one parent who is of European descent. Class 2 citizens can become Class 1 by marriage to a Class 1 citizen.
Class 1 citizens have the most personal, political, and economic freedom. However, Class 1 citizens are not permitted to marry Class 3 citizens.
The only exception is with women. Women in Class 1 are not permitted to participate in dangerous jobs are careers, such as the military. In order to populate the African Continent with Class 1 citizens, women were encouraged to reproduce. The government pays a woman enough to support her children and splurge on herself, and any woman who could raise 30 kids by the age of fifty would be given a small fortune to retire on. Women who fail to produce a single child by the age of 30 are declared infertile, regardless, and declared Class 3 citizens.
Monogamy was largely abandoned for men; who may take on as many as ten wives.
Class 1 men are expected to work until the age of sixty-five. Any man who is unemployed between the age of thirty and sixty-five for more than a year becomes a Class 3 Citizen.
Class 2: Anyone not European, but not what the Politisan Council has decreed to be a "lower" race. This almost exclusively includes those of East Asian descent.
Those in this class generally have the same privileges as Class 1 citizens, but are barred from military service, holding political positions, or owning businesses.
Class 2 women may not have more than two children in their life, unless it's with a Class 1 citizen. Any Class 2 citizen born unauthorized may be terminated regardless of age.
Both genders are expected to work, and are not restricted from dangerous jobs (not including military). Like Class 1 men, they can be declared a Class 3 citizen if they remain unemployed between 30 and 65.
Class 3: This goes to anyone without European or East Asian descent, as well as criminals, enemy spies, homosexuals, those with mental handicaps, Jews, Gypsies, infertile Class 1 women, unemployed men and Class 2's, and prisoners of war.
All members of this class are kept in towns surrounded by walls, electric fences, barbed wire fences, and patrolled by armed soldiers. The only time that they may leave their ghettos is when they're forced to work the fields.
Class 3 citizens must have government approval to reproduce. Any unauthorized children, regardless of age when discovered, may be terminated.
While they are not permitted to marry outside of their class, there is little to no penalty for soldiers who rape Class 3 citizens. The Class 3 citizen who has sexual intercourse with a Class 1 citizen, regardless of consent, is generally executed.
