North Carolina Regulators 1768-71- earlier Revolution ?

Could there have been any way that the Regulator movement in western North Carolina during 1768-71, which comprised disaffected Scotch-Irish frontier settlers who had grievances against the eastern interests re disproportionate taxes, land fees, and other legal impositions, became a more popular and widespread political platform which triggers the Revolution earlier ? OTL, Gov Sir William Tryon defeated the Regulators permanently with a large loyalist army equipped with arty at the Battle of Alamance in May 1771, but prior to then could there have been a different outcome for these disgruntled frontier settlers such that more ppl could've been attracted to their cause ? How different would such an American Revolution have been with the butterflies from such an ATL ?
