Help me with Apache butterflies

I'm planning a TL which involves several PODs that will effect the settlement of the American west. The two that I'd like to focus on in this thread are:
  1. Preventing the Bascom Affair.
  2. Keeping Emporer Maximillian in control of Mexico.
How will these changes effect the relations the Apache and other southern North American native tribes have with Mexico and America?

Something similar is going to happen, a drop in the bucket by 1860s. Apaches were going to end up on reservations pretty much no matter what.
