Tex Willer was a western comic created by Gian Luigi Bonelli and Aurelio Galleppini in Italy, 1949. At the time, Fascist Italy was recovering from the effects of the Soviet invasion and resulting occupation, with Benito Mussolini receiving foreign aid from the United States of America. It was extremely popular with American kids, despite the tense political climate and opposition to anything Italian during the time period.
