1692 Christiaan Huygens promotes the invention of Denis Papin to the ‘’water counsil’’ of Delftland ( board who manage the polders) they do not see any advantage in it but an other ‘’ water counsil’’ near Rotterdam want to build an engine as to drain a polder near Rotterdam, as backup for windmills.
