Bolívar killed in 1823-23, effects on Spanish-American independence wars

Kind of a WI, what are the ramifications of Bolívar being killed at the height of the Spanish-American wars of independence, say at or around his victory in Venezuela (after the Battle of Carabobo)?

Would Santander or Bolívar's other lieutenants be willing to go into Ecuador and Perú thereafter?

Speaking of Perú, with Bolívar out of the picture would San Martín be able to hold Perú? I'm aware he invades Perú in 1820 but his hold on it at the time was precarious at best. The question is then, would San Martín be able to advance further into Perú or would the Royalists be able to make a comeback?
