  1. The Campaign Trail Game Has Returned.

I tried to log onto the site a couple of weeks ago and it wouldn't load then, either (checked again a while later and it was fine). So I'm not sure if this means anything one way or the other regarding a new scenario coming now.

Robert Walter in North Dorset. Wikipedia tells me 1997 was his first term, so ITTL, he would have had quite an interesting introduction to national politics :D

I played a completely normal 2010 as the Tories, browsed through the results screen, and saw this: The computer player is weird.
  6. Alternate Electoral Maps II

I think Kanye West's biggest impediment to win the Democratic nomination is more his pretty unambiguous admiration of Trump than that he's never been elected to office before.
  7. How can I "lengthen" the life of some people without falling into ASB?

As has been pointed out, this was before there were consistent medical routes in treating hypertension, so it's not out of the question that someone with FDR's stressful lifestyle could rapidly worsen in that respect, but regardless, it's a bit horrifying to comprehend the level of organ damage...
  8. How can I "lengthen" the life of some people without falling into ASB?

Yeah, everything I've read about FDR's health leads me to think that it's already surprising enough that he managed to make it as long as he did. I didn't even think it was possible for someone to have a BP reading anywhere near 350/195.

Looks a lot like the OTL 1920 map, where the Democratic candidate lost the popular vote by a whopping 26 points, but still held onto the entire South.

Had a good game as Clegg/Lib Dems in 2010: a second place finish in the popular vote and nearly managing a triple-digit seat count.

And yet an absentee performance still returned stronger results than many of Reagan's real-life challengers.

  13. The Campaign Trail Game Has Returned.

I played as Bush/Cheney 2000 on Normal and managed to just re-create the OTL election map (though Florida was much less ambiguous, yet Gore won the popular vote by more): https://www.americanhistoryusa.com/campaign-trail/game/655674

He's a little bit older than that.

Razor thin, 270-268 Obama re-election. I played as Romney, and I won the popular vote, as well as Florida and Ohio, but still came up short. The key state was Iowa, which I lost by fewer than 6,000 votes: https://www.americanhistoryusa.com/campaign-trail/game/644099

I feel like I have, but it was probably on the Easy setting.

Beatty actually won the election, but at press time, the Wisconsin SoS was given an envelope with the wrong results.

So I played as the Conservatives in 2010, and across all games in this series, a pretty good strategy is a) bank up on debate skills; and b) save your money until the last two weeks, whereby you go absolutely nuts on ads. Add in some FPTP fun with the Lib Dems, and the Tories got their 1997:
