  1. Can the Avro Arrow be saved?

I would love to have the time to write a TL that has a common Commonwealth Defence Procurement Policy. Mainly because I would love to see the Arrow and the TSR2 in service with the RAF. As a boy and beyond I attended the RAF At Home Days at RAF Leuchars in Fife. What a thrill it would have...
  2. What If These Two Warships Met In Combat

This is all about the crews. Whoever detects first wins I am going to say that USN wins
  3. Callaghans follies (1970s new build fleet carriers)

Surely any of the contemporary reactor plants would suffice given the interchangeablity between designs e.g. the S6W and the D2G/D2W. After all there is not going to be an issue with space in the hull of a CVA compared to a sub/cruiser.
  4. Callaghans follies (1970s new build fleet carriers)

Why not make them nuclear and solve all the problems? Plenty of designs available in the timeframe.
  5. WI: ATF Cancelled?

My initial thoughts are that without the ATF being brought into service you may not even actually get F-35. If you do it will be later, more expensive and as a result far fewer of them will be produced than in OTL. In fact you may find the likes of the UK and others pulling out of the project...
  6. Something Serious Has Happened on Air Force One (a Tl/story by Geon)

You are more than welcome. This is the first TL I have ever felt motivated to nominate, it is that good. Hope you are taking care of yourself and doing what you are told by your doctors! :)
  7. 2023 Turtledoves - (Closes (26/02/23) - Best Cold War to Contemporary Timeline Nominations and Seconds

I nominate for Best Cold War to Contemporary Timeline:Something Serious Has Happened on Air Force One by Geon
  8. Getting Ahead of Ourselves: A B-29 TL

Sorry to be a pedant but LeMay was not a General at this point. He was still a Colonel. It would be more likely someone like Spaatz or Doolittle. Also Arnold was Chief of the Army Air Forces. It would be a demotion to put him in charge of the 20th Air Force and shunting him off to China. "On...
  9. WI: Four treaty unlimited ships.

Cal, If going big with Tillman then do it proper and not half measures. Tillman IV ( original spec) 24 x 16" and 21 x 5" still with a speed of 25.2kts Imagine a shore battery gunline of four of these beasts on 6th June 1944! Or for use in a False Peak attack in AANW!! :)
  10. WI: Kido Butai Spotted En Route to Pearl

Really? I am not sure I see the US opening hostilities as much as many in the chain of command might want to. Having worked so hard to remain neutral to this point in the face of Axis provocation and Allied invocation it would be a strange change to suddenly throw that away on a battle fleet...
  11. War makes for Strange Bedfellows – A Second World War timeline

Subscribed. Can I echo @jamesownz comments "more now" :)
  12. Fictional inventory of modern airforces

Who the hell makes all of these though? Even taking out the licence built ones there are far to many for Fairey (or probably the whole British aviation industry) to build.
  13. Fictional Navy Inventory (Fleets & Aircraft)

    What is that monstrosity?? LOL
  14. Fictional inventory of modern airforces

Viggens??? Highly doubtful IMVHO. More likely to be A-10s for battlefield role and Strike Eagles for other strike roles
  15. Fictional inventory of modern airforces

What does the UK buy if there is no Tornado? There is no chance of them buying a French design, so clearly it has to be US. So 15s, 16s or 18s? I am guessing it would have to be 15s to give the range and two-engine safety over water for long range interception.
  16. The Anglo/American - Nazi War - The on-going mystery

Where do British Stag Parties go in this TL instead? :)
  17. If Gore Wins in 2000, Who Wins in 2004 and 2008?

GOP in 2004 and in 2008. Then Dems in 2012
  18. Britain/France do not declare war on Germany in Sept 39

Has anyone done a TL where the above happens?
