Your Personal Pop Culture Utopia timeline

Indeed. This is my personal pop culture utopia timeline after all, not anyone else's. :)

And just to put it them all in one place, here's a consolodated version my entries scattered accross the thread, with links after: Chuck Norris dies in a training accident while in the Air Force in South Korea in 1958. So sad. Joe Lewis gets cast as Colt in Way of the Dragon rather than...

I think "lost with all hands" just sounds better. Call it artistic license.. ;) And, yes, I know most people like it, but there are those of us who don't. My objections as stated in the footnote are not all that uncommon. Rosen in particular, seems to have a better track record of keeping more...

And a much more substantial film related one: Ralph Bakshi keeps the title Harlem Nights rather than Coonskin. However, upon completion, Paramount refuses to release it due to fears of a backlash over it’s content. (1) The film remains unreleased until 2010. (2) When it is finally released, it...

Continuing from one of my earlier posts, several more (mostly) film related bits and bobs: Bela Lugosi has a non-fatal heart attack in 1956. He is hospitalized and unable to complete filming for Grave Robbers from Outer Space. Ed Wood uses previously shot footage of Lugosi as well as using Tom...

Sorry? I'm not following your question.... What does what give to whom?

Your Personal Pop Culture Utopia timeline

Long time, no post. Glad to see this thread is still ongoing. For this addition to my own personal pop culture utopia, we tackle a favorite hobby of mine, role playing games. At some point early point in his life, Phillip Barker rejects his father’s Nazi sympathies. (1) Otherwise, his early...

Japan doesn't surrender and US ops to starve and bomb. How long does the war last

The rice crop of 1945 failed. Distribution of food was utterly disrupted. Atomic weapons were coming on line - 1 more in August, the infamous "third shot", yhree or four more in September, and three per month from October onwards...

You mean as opposed to Myanmar for the 2009 Rambo and Mexico for this year's upcoming Last Blood?

What if FDR died a year earlier?

Indeed it was a pack of lies, which is my point. What exactly makes you think President Wallace is any less susceptible to them than VP Wallace was? He was predispositioned to believe the best of Stalin and the Soviets, and there's no indication that his positive opinions would change ITTL.

What if FDR died a year earlier?

Remember that that we're talking about a guy who visited two Gulags in his May 1944 trip and praised them as a cross between the TVA and the Hudson Bay company OP specified April 12, 1944. ;) Regarding renomination, considering that he's now the incumbent, it's almost a sure thing. As it was...

Alternate Iranian Hostage Crisis – Students Seize Soviet Embassy

Rather than the Beirut model of surreptitious action, I'd expect something more along the lines of an Entebbe style assault to get into Tehran followed by a Storm 333 style storming of the embassy. The assaults against the Moscow Theatre seige of 2002 and Beslan Seige in 2004 would also be good...

    Laughin' Place: Redefining Disney

Bringing up Osamu Tezuka again, I have a few questions... OTL, Kimba the White Lion aired in 1966 in association with NBC. You haven't mentioned it yet, other than saying that ITTL The Lion King doesn't exist. Are we looking forward to a Disney redub of the NBC 1966 dub? And whither Hayao...

Here's another to add to my Utopia... George Markstein has a clearer hand in the creation of and thus more creative control over The Prisoner. Patrick Mcgoohan still stars and gets enough of the weird psycho-drama in, but with Markstein's writing we get an initial run of 26 episodes.

What if FDR died a year earlier?

Yalta will have very different results, depending on who wins in 44. If Wallace wins, Stalin gains. If someone else wins, Stalin will likely get less. De Gaulle may or may not get an invitation, but if he does, major wrinkles.
