  1. Map Thread XX

Can’t wait to see the Chatham Islands map haha!
  2. Accountability: The Fall of Bill Clinton

Just read this in one sitting! Great TL! Paul Wellstone got the monkey’s paw here, I see. I’m glad that he’s alive. I’m interested to see what him and JFK Jr. do in the future.
  3. Map Thread XVII

Honestly, my only real intent in making this was to see the effects on the county map. I admit to being disappointed that McMullin didn't have the chance to add a bit of color to the same old red and blue maps that we've had since '92. I was also rather surprised that the rather large increase...
  4. Map Thread XVII

Evan McMullin wins Utah Donald Trump/Mike Pence 45.94% 298 EVs Hillary Clinton/Tim Kaine: 48.17% 227 EVs Evan McMullin/Mindy Finn: 0.72% 6 EVs Gary Johnson/Bill Weld: 3.27% 0 EVs Jill Stein/Ajamu Baraka: 1.07% 0 EVs Others: 0.84% 0 EVs Methods: Here is my McMullin wins Utah map. I wanted him...
  5. MotF 117: False Friends - Voting thread

I'm a sucker for New Zealand-themed stuff. Tsar of New Zealand gets my vote.
  6. ASB Idea: British Prime Ministers By Electoral College Votes

Definitely South Carolina: the first state to break off and before that, the nullification crisis.
  7. ASB Idea: British Prime Ministers By Electoral College Votes

Interesting idea. Where do the Liberal Dems do best? And also, would places like Alaska or Hawaii be like Northern Ireland where there's abstentionists, unionists, and nationalists?
  8. AHC: President From Washington Or Oregon

Technically, this is pre-1900, but here's something that I found that has presidents from all fifty states: https://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showpost.php?p=8905974&postcount=3907 And here, with maps...
  9. President Hiram Johnson, 1923-?

Would La Follette and Johnson be able to work together on a third party progressive ticket? (My gut reaction is no) Who might Johnson pick for VP (either as the Republican or Progressive nominee)?
  10. WI: California's capital moves to Berkeley?

Interesting mini-TL, Toran Darell! Here's a link to the OTL results of the referendum: http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/state.php?fips=6&year=1908&f=0&off=50&elect=0
  11. If Republicans ran a full conservative could FDR have carried all 50 states

That would be amazing if that happened. I didn't realize how far the other states were from being close (NH is the only state within 5% of being won by the Landon).
  12. AHC: Henry Wallace wins a state in 1948

Your challenge is to have former (1941-1945) Vice President Henry Wallace win a state in the 1948 Presidential election while running as a Progressive (as in OTL). In the same election IOTL, Strom Thurmond won several states with roughly the same popular vote as Wallace; what percentage of...
  13. The Boys In Blue: a New Zealand dictatorship TL

Yay! It's back! Perhaps New Caledonia? That would be a lot closer to NZ.
  14. WI: Pat Nixon dies in 1974?

That last shot was heartbreaking. After seeing that, it's quite possible that he'd commit suicide, which may be beneficial for Ford as Paul V McNutt noted.
  15. John Anderson becomes president

    And Reagan runs as a 3rd party/independent?
  16. WI: No "switch in time that saved nine"

While it may have spooked the Supreme Court into allowing further reforms, the "switch in time that saved nine" is a myth, as explained by Justice Roberts in a later memo as seen here.
  17. Which legislative upper house would you, with adequate POD, liquidate?

I tend to agree. This isn't as bad when the head of government is elected separately from the legislature, but I don't like the idea of having only a single legislative branch choosing its own leader. I do think that state senates are essentially useless because they have to have equally sized...
  18. Hamlet on the Hudson: Designated Survivor

2000 should be an interesting election. Subscribed.
  19. Alternate Electoral Maps

I'm not sure if this has been done before. I took Roosevelt's 1912 percentages and compared them to La Follette's 1924 percentages. Oklahoma and Louisiana only had one of the two running, so I'm discounting them. Fortunately, both elections had the same EVs. Roosevelt: 460 La Follette: 51 N/A: 20
  20. The Ruins of an American Party System: From 1920 Onward

That was a pretty good entry (ending?). WWII will interesting.
