  1. Victoria I or Victoria II?

Definitely the 2nd. Frankly old gen Paradox games are quite difficult to tolerate UI wise too. They were fine for their times, but the latest gen ones are simply better/faster/stronger. The only exception may be the HOI series. HOI3 is debatable inferior in various ways, hopefully HOI4 will...
  2. WI: Paris falls in 1914

Paris falling in '14 is the 'we'll be home by Christmas' scenario for the Germans in WW1. Plenty to speculate on what happens afterwards but the short term consequences are simple. Central powers just won the war.
  3. Europa Universalis IV - 13 August 2013

I'm learning stuff everyday, and new iterations of the next expansion's map are helping. Many oversimplifications like united Manchus or Incas in 1444 are gone. Wait till you see West Africa. Fun times. And the trade node revamp is just glorious. :)
  4. Europa Universalis IV - 13 August 2013

1000 new provinces. The historical research alone takes subforums. Plenty of new tags. So yeah that'll affect the ability to conquer continents in three wars.
  5. Europa Universalis IV - 13 August 2013

China and India are quite epic.
  6. Europa Universalis IV - 13 August 2013

Just keep this here but the ballpark is many new mechanics to make war more interesting and a huge rework of province density outside Europe. Haven't watched the announcement so no idea how much they shown yet maybe this is old news.
  7. Europa Universalis IV - 13 August 2013

Biggest expansion yet to be announced tomorrow. :) Lets just say the first screenshots will amaze some people.
  8. Europa Universalis IV - 13 August 2013

1.7 and Res Publica are coming out this week, Wednesday if everything goes well. Hopefully we did a good job on the betatesting, because the dev team is on mandatory all-July Swedish vacations so any hotfixes will be slower than usual. I feel 1.7 is quite a bit more fun than 1.6.2, hope...
  9. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

But... what did she impale with? ;)
  10. A Blank Map Thread

I've been looking for a political world map, and while theres alot of nice stuff around, I have trouble finding exactly what I want. It needs to be a political map of the whole world, that shows national boundaries but not states/provinces. It needs to be very large, so that drawing detail is...
  11. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

I managed 'Jainghist Khan' yesterday. Hell of a ride, to be sure. Most challenging 'WC' to date :)
  12. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

Having lots of fun, decided not to wait for hotfix. My Jain Empire is rapidly pushing out into Persia. All hail Jaingis Khan! ;)
  13. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

Yeah Cathars allow female priests and such, but they pay a heavy price because there cant be a Cathar papacy. Only Fraticelli get to be every bit as powerful as Catholics in theory. They can install their own Pope in Rome, and have every Catholic power then, including crusades...
  14. Europa Universalis IV - 13 August 2013

What part is strange to you? Need specifics to help out :) Ever played Eu2/Eu3?
  15. Europa Universalis IV - 13 August 2013

Unless you want random Americas or to play as natives, no. All the good stuff is in the free patch.
  16. Hearts of Iron IV - Victory at All Costs Announced

Same for many of us. Ugly map, too much useless micromanagement, only game to ever made me believe 'too many provinces' was a thing (especially when theyre all losanges without any historical value), harder to approach, less satisfying. Many of these are subjective points but essentially, I...
  17. Europa Universalis IV - 13 August 2013

Correct, just look at the options before starting your game. Less than 20% actually used the random new world, its a niche feature.
  18. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

Hah! Okay, I chuckled, point :)
  19. Europa Universalis IV - 13 August 2013

Yes. This DLC had really few paid features; mainly the ability to play as revamped natives and colonial states and that's about it. Meaning that someone who decided to only patch without buying it can still enjoy the full experience as any Eurasian nation. Its due to the modular nature of the...
  20. Europa Universalis IV - 13 August 2013

Welcome! I'm really psyched about it, tons of potential and strategic options. I'll certainly spend a fair bit of time testing to make sure its in the best shape possible come Q2.
