Saving Basketball in Raincouver: A Vancouver Grizzlies Timeline

Though its always cool to see this TL. I must confess, I'm a bit mystified by your treatment of Sam Mack. In OTL he was a decent role player for a couple years but never really caught on. Hard for me to envision him as a superstar even with a better supporting cast...

Orleanist Free France/Henri VI Backs De Gaulle

The Americans likely wouldn't be thrilled to say the least. The problem for the UK is that there aren't that many alternatives to De Gaulle to lead the Free French. I don't want to derail your thread, but I can't help but wonder if this POD would have longer legs if the dates were slightly...

The Day of the Lion: An Italian WW2 TL

A pair of grim but otherwise expected updates. The Allied strategy seems realistic IMO. However La Spezia might throw a spanner into the works. Guess we'll see. I highly doubt the Allies are going to push further north than Rimini in 1943 or 1944. With Rome in their hands, the political driver...

    WI: Mulroney Crowns Wagner... 1976

The recent death of Canada's 18th Prime Minister has caused me to revisit several old TLs of mine about what I consider to be an under-explored area of Canadian history. I'd love any thoughts people have about the following idea: POD: Rather than withdraw, Brian Mulroney uses his position as...

The Day of the Lion: An Italian WW2 TL

Great update! Interesting to see the unravelling of Italy in TTL... Small quibble: while researching my own TL, i was shocked by the unpopularity of Farinacci even among the Germans after 1940/41. I highly doubt Hitler would have him step up and lead the RSI in TTL, though he likely will play a...

The Day of the Lion: An Italian WW2 TL

Interesting update! The former fascists maneuvering for position is an entertaining but ultimately futile enterprise. Though I do find it surprising that Ciano has escaped association with Mussolini. The arrival of Allied forces into this mess is certainly going to be interesting. With all...

The Day of the Lion: An Italian WW2 TL

Given that TTLs Cold War likely ends the same way, I doubt the Italian urban battles get a similar treatment in mainstream circles...

The Day of the Lion: An Italian WW2 TL

I wonder if these urban battles end up being the equivalent of the 1944 Warsaw uprising... Awfully convenient way of having the Germans do the dirty work of getting rid of subversive elements...

Gersdorff Suicidebombs Hitler, Goering, and Himmler, now what?

Wasn't Guderian in the vicinity of Berlin around this time? IIRC his estates weren't far from the capital and he'd just been appointed Inspector General of Armoured Troops. Even if he isn't the leader of the junta in TTL, he'd certainly be a major figure IMO. As for Italy, the loss of Hitler...

    King Theodore's Corsica

As I mentioned previously, the old USS Alliance is still kicking around and is being converted to civilian use at this time in OTL. Assuming minimal butterflies, they might be able to buy her back and get her back into fighting shape. There's also the option of buying and arming civilian...

    King Theodore's Corsica

Before Jefferson was POTUS or even came back to the US, he was one of the main US diplomats in Europe. Barbary attacks started almost immediately after the US navy was disbanded and Jefferson tried to deal with it.

    King Theodore's Corsica

The last updates hinted that Jeffersons efforts to establish an anti-Barbary coalition would be more successful in TTL due to Corsica. In OTL they failed which required the US to invest in a navy

    King Theodore's Corsica

Problem is... The US might not have any ships to send! Unless I missed something, the USN doesnt exist in either OTL or TTL. Maybe they could refit the Alliance and assemble a small squadron centered around it, but the original six frigates haven't even been laid down yet

The Day of the Lion: An Italian WW2 TL

Do you happen to read German? AFAIK theres no English language book that deals comprehensively with German views of the Balkans pre-war. If you want to know more about the Greek occupation, Mazower is a good place to start if you haven't read him yet. Its a bit tough to find, but Michael...

    King Theodore's Corsica

On a completely different note, I came across this design today and wondered if the Corsicans could take some inspiration from the Baltic for their navy... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemmema Certainly would be an interesting way for them to "punch above their weight." But I'll admit...

The Day of the Lion: An Italian WW2 TL

Wouldn't the preparations start earlier in TTL given the earlier deterioration of the Italian position? As for the OKWs fear of the Macedonian front, I'd argue that it dated back to their understanding of WWI in the 1920s which overemphasized the importance of the region and birthed the...

The Day of the Lion: An Italian WW2 TL

Though that's certainly better than OTL, the morale for the Italian troops in the Balkans was near non-existent and the Germans had some top-line formations deployed initially. I'm not convinced that TTL's changed enough to create a drastically different result from OTL's in the Balkans.

The Day of the Lion: An Italian WW2 TL

Unless theres some hidden divergence I missed, the Germans will not be surprised by the Italian defection, at least in the Balkans. They certainly weren't in OTL. Proposals to rapidly occupy the Italian zones of occupation had been around since late 1942 and the plans had already been drawn up...

The Day of the Lion: An Italian WW2 TL

Great TL. Excellent work! Slight quibble with the Italian's success in pulling out of the Balkans. In OTL the Germans were terrified of a second Macedonian front and moved quickly to disarm the Italians and occupy the region in TTL. Infrastructure was also really poor, especially in Albania, so...

    Social Conditions for *Kemalism

I've also seen it argued that Libya should be considered an offshoot of Kemalism/Sun-Yat Sen's teachings (the two were very similar!) I also wonder if Hungary could have taken this route had Bela Kun pursued more reasonable territorial goals in the aftermath of the revolution...
