Our Beautiful Game: An American Soccer TL

Well, looks interesting. You've got some basic single letter spelling errors in your copy, but otherwise, it's a very good timeline. And yes, college soccer is what will save it, especially if it can overtake gridiron in the Ivy League.

Really enjoyed your Fallout/LotR crossover story. Hope you'll restart it.

Now you're getting into Dunedain Rangers territory.

Um, that was my idea here on this thread because of the preponderance of Muslims in the federal prisons due to the War on Terror.

Should that not be "straight vertical and diagonal lines" instead?

The Foundation of the Empire: Peace, Order and Good Government

Good entry. And this is quite the Brit-Wank. I'm hoping it doesn't take too long for the Imperial Parliament to get established.

After 900 years, yeah, I'd see that many languages. People in adjacent zones would likely be able to talk to each other, but the further away, the less they can understand, such that someone from Boston would be pretty much unable to understand someone from Iowa. Think of how much change...

Okay, that was fairly awesome, though I'd think there would be more than just The Star Wars (are there three, six, or perhaps nine parts?), The Ring (three or six?), Indiana (three or four?), and Potter (seven or eight?). Perhaps the Star Trek (though how would that work as a mostly serialized...

If the Guardian can maintain the access to Donner Pass, perhaps using the pre-fall roadbeds to maintain access, or using the railroad beds to do the same, he's likely to have more power. I'd imagine that if he can maintain Macadam roads from the Central Valley through Donner Pass and to Reno...

I put it in Islamistan because it didn't make sense to put it in the Cowboy culture, since there are way too many passes to connect it with plains. If you'll note I noted that the San Luis Valley was hydraulic influenced but the pass from the Akansas valley to the San Luis Valley is fairly low...

The Five States of Islamistan Well, here are the five areas in which I think my idea of a "Dar as-Islam" among the Colorado Rockies based off of escapees from the Supermax outside of Florence. The most strict of the five "states" is along the headwaters of the Arkansas river, and is based out...

Works for me, I think I was pushing for Colorado just because it has a similar elevation and terrain to Afghanistan. Heck, even the northern part of the San Luis Valley is endorheic, though not as large as the Helmand valley.

Medieval America Tk II: Discussion Thread

Well, since ADX Florence has most of the Al-Qaeda prisoners on American soil (mostly from the first WTC bombings and the embassy attacks), that's why I was thinking the headwater valleys of Colorado's Rockies. Plus, like the actual medieval Muslims, they could be a bit more advanced than the...

Well, I kow it's too late, but you really have the Cowoy/Plains culture going much too far into the Central Rocky Mountians. While I could possibly see South and North Park developing similar is less nomadic versions of the Cowboy culture, Middle Park is much too isolated for a nomadic culture...

The Foundation of the Empire: Peace, Order and Good Government

Actually, without New England, there's likely as not never going to be an ACW. With BNA and New England pulling off the more liberally minded, the USA of TTL will be a slavocracy until they are forced by the rest of the world (or more likely Britain in the Next War) to abandon it, and then...

The Foundation of the Empire: Peace, Order and Good Government

Yeah, I missed the loss the Territory Northwest of the River Ohio from the Treaty of Paris too. Damn, that's a big loss to the US. I guess because there was less explanation for how the US lost that during the Treat negotiations, it was hard to remember. I mean, you don't have any military...

The Foundation of the Empire: Peace, Order and Good Government

A problem I see with this map is that it still has the dog legged southern border to BNA, which as described hound be straight from the southernmost point (Ohio-Mississippi confluence) west to the Colorado River.

The Foundation of the Empire: Peace, Order and Good Government

Well, aside from the fact I don't trust the rivers on this map, it looks pretty awesome. And even if the US gets the Purchase (which I'm not sure if it actually happens), it's not nearly as large as it was OTL, though I suspect that an potential Mexican-American war will be much more towards...
