WI: The Enterprise completes its five year mission (Star Trek survives for 5 seasons)

I could see Uhura as a Captain - she is still doing SI work, but not as an active Agent, more like information gatherer whilst doing std Starfleet work too. I do wonder if she would find it 'boring' though as being in SI? Perhaps SI sends her recruits to train on her ship? Since she knows how...

Who said anything about genocide? Israel just needs to deport everyone from the strip.

Excellent update- S:I in miniseries form is a great compromise esp as a spring/summer show. Isreal winning will be a mess. Is there much of a Palistinian population left now? They might as well finish the job it seems. Good for you Glen, hope the gamble pays off.

What if the USA lost the American Revolution?

I saw a show where the lead historian (Simon xxxx) said that if Britain had retained the American colonies the focus would be on them and westwards expansion and not India and Africa. This seems plausible as the size and richness of America becomes known. Thus I could see Britain leaving India...

I think a Wesley character could work - have the whole ambiguity about if he is or is not Picard's son, leave it open since Beverly is not on the Ent-D. However, Wesley is a B-character appearing to cause Picard uncomfortable moments, get video message from his dead 'Dad', and helm the ship...

If Egan is not careful he will spark a US vs British Empire and Chile war. Egan needs reigning in fast.

Main problem with Wesley was not the genius bit or even the creator’s pet but it was the fact that he had no kids his age to interact with so Wes is always interacting with adults very awkwardly. No adult wants a teen trying to be a buddy, and no normal teen wants to hang with adults. Give Wes...

There and Back Again: The English Journeys of Catherine of Aragon

Hatfield does seem like a lovely place - though I hope the nobility are not abandoning the Castles quite yet. Slightly adventurous thing to say at dinner there Anne, though inclined is not the same as committed to - this may only be a small storm in a small teacup. A chapter from the...

Humm…. One wonder if François should be going after Jean himself since those troops are already heading for Brittany? Going to be messy indeed.

Alternate History: Explain the historical event

The 5th blockbuster movie from Steven Spielberg spins off into an unusual direction for the director - alternative history! in The Danish-American War of 1899 Spielberg presents the audience with a small series of incidents in the Dutch East Indies that spiral into first an economic war- one...

Thank for Exiles @dsp19 - I liked that mini-series a lot, some great fictional politics there. A thought on Part VI, the chat between the Enterprise crew seems 'unnatural' somehow? For example: "Kirk took control of the conversation again. "So I hear when we return to Earth, Captain Scott...

WI: The Enterprise completes its five year mission (Star Trek survives for 5 seasons)

We have discussed this before, but with so much experiace of Star Trek among the writing team, production types etc then ITTL TNG is likely to come out very, very different to OTL. I suspect a lot will depend on how much Roddenberry, now he is in charge of TNG ignores the movies, S:I, etc and...

Solar Dreams: a history of solar energy (1878 - 2025)

Patrick Egan is not worthy of his post and I wonder if he is heading for an accident? Nice the British are helping Chile here- they have everything to gain by helping I suspect.

Maltz raising Worf in the UFP would an interesting twist indeed esp if Karlax is involved too. Presuming that Worf is adopted into the UFP and the Khitomar massacre happens as per OTL - it is not impossible the details change. For example: with majority Klingon populated worlds in (and...

In OTL Maltz worked with Federation authorities to make the Klingon Language Guides and lived a quiet life in the UFP, similar to several other Klingons in UFP space. I am not sure he needs to be a villain here.
