It's time for another remake. I've gone and done this series again, with a few minor changes, and a number of additions.

So here's For Once, Prime Minister, I Believe You...

As usual there's a few controversial politicians involved in this, so there will be an uncensored version
here.

Received 1989 Nobel Peace Prize for mediating the Algerian Crisis. China’s human rights record remained poor during his rule, and he continued a cult of personality. China’s economy stagnated during this era, falling behind American and Soviet efforts. His rule saw the return of Macau to Chinese control after centuries of Portuguese rule (1557-1987). However his heavy handed integration contributed to the defeat of the Hong Kong Referendum (1994). His influence entered into decline after this point. Stepped down in 1996 and retired. His death and funeral provoked protests that foreshadowed the Jade Revolution (2009).

However Humphrey lost the general election to President Rockefeller in a landslide. Retired to Minnesota, advocated for failed bills subsidizing technological development. Died of bladder cancer.

Hue, a color or tint.

Huff, sulking anger or a sudden intake of breath, often used with narcotics.
Hubert Horatio Humphrey Jr. (May 27, 1911 – March 1, 1954) was an American pharmacist and politician who served as United States Senator from Minnesota from 1949 to 1954. He was a leading liberal in the Senate before his assassination in the Nacionalista Attack.

Born in Wallace, South Dakota, Humphrey attended the University of Minnesota. He helped found the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) in 1944; the next year he was elected mayor of Minneapolis, serving until 1948 and co-founding the liberal anti-communist group Americans for Democratic Action in 1947. In 1948, he was elected to the U.S. Senate and successfully advocated for the inclusion of a proposal to end racial segregation in the 1948 Democratic National Convention's party platform.

In the Senate Humphrey continued to be an advocate for liberal programs, including Civil Rights, unions, and government support for the poor. Humphrey, contrary to some of his contemporaries, urged for restraint during the Cold War. Humphrey was considered a possible Presidential candidate before his death. On March 1, 1954, Puerto Rican Nationalists opened fire from the Senate audience, striking Humphrey in the skull, killing him instantly.

Humphrey was only the second Senator to be assassinated, and remains the only member of Congress killed on the floor. His Senate desk remains painted black in his memory, and the Humphrey Office Building is named for him.

So what happened to Davis that resulted in such a short time in office, despite winning an election?

Prime Ministers of the United Commonwealth of the British Isles since the Second World War

This is for a fanfic series using Spy x Family characters I've planned and started, but I haven't reached modern times yet. (Still stuck in the 1800s...)

Lore:
  • Great Britain goes through a revolution and second civil war. It becomes a federal republic, the United Commonwealth of the British Isles (UCBI or UC for short).
  • The UC is composed of 10 countries: England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Mann, Cornwall, Orkney, Shetland, Jersey, Guernsey.
  • The UC uses STV for federal elections, much like Ireland. It uses the historical system where elections take place over a 4-week period, usually in May. New Parliament takes office starting in June.
  • Having a multi-party system, the UC now has electoral alliances among parties, somewhat like Italy. The political spectrum from left to right: Communist Group (far-left), Socialist Alliance (left), Cooperatives and Democracy (centre-left), Radical Centre (centrist), Home Rule Leagues (localist), Democratic Conservatives (centre-right), Free Enterprise Alliance (right-wing), National Alliance (far-right).
  • Sylvia Sherwood's entire personality is reinvented: she's a serene, friendly, and elegant British lady who ends up becoming the UC's longest-serving and most successful Prime Minister (and also a fashion icon and sex symbol).
  • Other Spy x Family characters will appear in whatever roles are most comically apt or inapt.
