Albion, where the Sun never set

It's not an issue on ah.com's end, it's the result of a lot of people using Discord as an image host and Discord breaking external embeds.

No harm no foul, but this map-reposting Twitter account isn't the original source of this old thing. It was actually created by Reddit user liminalsoup:

There's always this 1940 publication of the US Department of Agriculture (full size/source here), though obviously it's eighty years out of date and is a product of its time.

Honestly: is there a reason this can't be shown as two separate maps? It would be a lot more clear that way. As you have it, the combination of multiple fill colors with the red borders in the two options on the left makes it seem like there's some sort of civil or secessionist war ongoing...

I'm pretty sure "Novalatin" is present in North Africa because it's the state language of this big United Empire of Christendom, which is colonizing the area in an era after it had already historically been colonized by Arabic-speakers.

Go to floodmap.net and enter 1540 (the difference between 14,793 and 9,741 feet, converted to meters) in the "Elevation/Height/Water Level (-/+):" field and click "Set".

I think this would still see the waters north of the NWT freezing entirely over in the winter and being largely inaccessible in anything less than a heavily global-warmed twenty-first century summer, but rather than continuing to go back and forth I'd invite you to look at some of the maps in...

Without having been glaciated in the geologically recent past, this Antarctica wouldn't have been depressed by the weight of the ice and so would probably be high enough in elevation not to be broken up, though I guess it depends on just how high sea levels are.

This Hudson Sea would be saltier, more biodiverse, and more accessible to sailors than OTL's Hudson Bay, but it's still largely cut off from the Atlantic and its major currents and so might not be much warmer. And in any case, I think the real chokepoint for the Northwest Passage is the narrow...

A few questions: Is that some kind of like (Soviet-supported?) Sami insurgency in northern Fennoscandia? If so, how'd that come about? Did Yugoslavia break up in the same kind of way it did IOTL, despite presumably remaining a monarchy for longer? Or was there like, a Yugoslav-Bulgarian war or...

Every single time somebody makes a map of a Saxon state in Britain, one of y'all brings this up, and every single time, it not only detracts from the (very well-made, in this case) map but is just blindingly factually inaccurate. "Wessex" and "Essex" (from Old English Westseaxan and Ēastseaxan...

I would guess Balkanized U.S.A. is using a Chromebook or something similar they can't download programs onto, in which case I'd recommend Photopea.

I'm not OP, and I don't know about the original Goerdeler plan or the Russian plan, but śunya-Wellesium is a "predicted" plan, and is so named in keeping with Mendeleev's convention for predicted elements to prefix them with a Sanskrit number word, in this case the one for zero. It appears to...
