A Day in July: An Early 20th Century Timeline

I'd like to remind everyone Ayn Rand worked as a screenwriter at one point IOTL, and since both Russia and Germany are such movie meccas it's possible she also entered the profession ITTL.

Bicentennial Man: Ford '76 and Beyond

Ah, so that's how Harvey Milk survived. It'll be interesting to see how the LGBTQ community develops with him still alive, especially with AIDS right around the corner and his eventual election to Congress.

A Day in July: An Early 20th Century Timeline

That's fair, there is something about the area that gets people on both sides of the issue so passionately angry. Although I'd imagine ITTL things would be calmer for everyone: the Palestinians have their own independent state with close ties to the larger Arab nation, while the Jews aren't...

Out of curiosity, how is Zionism doing at the moment?

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

I'd just like to say Jews are a lot more sensible with naming conventions: we only name people after the dead and it's considered taboo to name someone after a living relative. No John Smith the Tenth in Jewish families, thank you very much.

A Day in July: An Early 20th Century Timeline

Wait, are they still able to immigrate to America? IOTL, there were really strict immigration quotas put in place by the 20s that effectively barred most Eastern European Jews (along with most Italians, Slavs, or anyone that wasn't from Western or Northern Europe). I forgot, did Butterflies kill...

A Day in July: An Early 20th Century Timeline

I finally finished this massive epic of a story, and I have to say it's been an amazing ride. This is quite possibly the most extensive, well-researched story I've ever seen on this site. Out of curiosity, how is Eastern European Jewry doing in the various Eastern European countries? While it...

Until Every Drop of Blood Is Paid: A More Radical American Civil War

Mazel tov on finishing the semester? I forgot, did you bring up Newton Knight and the Free State of Jones yet? They should start showing up by now and I'm sure you could do something interesting with them.

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

Out of curiosity, what aunt is she talking about? Also, happy birthday! We shall have to throw a tournament in your honor!

Bicentennial Man: Ford '76 and Beyond

I figured as much. Although the fact Gerald and Betty Ford were both big supporters of the ERA couldn't have hurt. I'd recommend watching Mrs. America if you haven't seen it yet, it does a great job looking at the ERA and some of the central figures both for and against it.

Any butterflies with the Equal Rights Amendment? I'm guessing it isn't fairing much better ITTL, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

I know the names of all 16 of my gg-grandparents, where they're from, and when they died. I can use records to accurately trace one branch back to the 1790s, and another branch connects me to a decent rabbinic lineage (via the brother of the founder of a Hassidic dynasty) although I don't really...

Until Every Drop of Blood Is Paid: A More Radical American Civil War

According to Wikipedia, his OTL running mate was Georgia governor Herschel Vespasian Johnson. He served as a Senator in the Confederate Senate.

Until Every Drop of Blood Is Paid: A More Radical American Civil War

Personally, I think all the highest-ranking Confederates should be given a choice: 1. Make a very public oath where they swear allegiance to the United States, acknowledge the wrongness of the Confederacy, and support giving equal rights to black people. They would never be allowed any...

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

It's weird to see Katheryn Parr as a young child. I'm so used to thinking of her as one of Henry's "older" wives, I didn't even notice she's only four years older than his daughter Mary. Also, based on a quick bit of research Maud should make for an interesting pick: fluent in French...
