I don't think removing the Electoral College is ASB. In fact it may be necessary for the Reconstruction to last. Too many veto points and undemocratic structures undermined the Republicans, especially the left Republicans.
So one thing that is my pet peeve on alternate history threads is when users have amazing stories and worldbuilding but then draw me out of the story by using pictures of already very famous people as a fictional character. (Sometimes appropriate like that great Sherlock wikibox above).

Really enjoying this TL, just two quick things I noticed.
In 2012 Labour only loses 2.9% of their vote in Scotland, this seems way to small of a figure. They got a massive boost from Brown in 2007 and David Millibands Labour simply wouldn't perform that well up there.

Obviously not trying to get spoilers but if at all possible, what would be constitutional amendments supported by the McGovern administration? I don't really know enough about US politics in the early 70's OTL nevermind ITTL to know how feasible it would be.
