Suez a Disaster

How can we make the Suez Crisis a complete disaster for the French and British, without intervention from any power that was not involved in the Crisis in the first place? Eisenhower won't pressure the European allies until disaster had already hit, and the Soviets will just bang shoes on tables.

So basically you're trying to create scenario where Egypt (before it's massive militarization of Nasser and before larg-scale Soviet arms deliveries) stands ground against Israel and Great Powers of France and Great Britain. I suspect it isn't possible without massive (and very selective) natural disaster hitting allies but sparing Egypt.

I was of the impression that Russia threatened to nuke both London and Paris unless they withdrew. That hardly seems to be mere shoe-banging.

egyptian army reforms as result of 1948 defeat. Modern (or close to it) weapons come from..... somewhere. They are able to inflict serious losses on invaders. Not defeat them but inflict enough losses that whole adventure is seen as a disaster.
