A touch of necromancy here but I highly recommend 'The Delorean Story' by Nick Sutton. Sutton was employee number 16 with DMC and the book reveals a wealth of detail, including the fact that a rescue package to keep the company afloat was developed and endorsed by the government, until Thatcher stepped in and vetoed it. He also details how Delorean nearly secured the rights to continue building the TR7 at Dunmurray, and how close the company came to success.
