WI: Meleager overthrows Perdiccas?

On June 11th, 323 BC, Alexander died, and the world changed forever. While it was tensely agreed that Perdiccas would become regent, there was debate as to whether Philip Arrhidaeus would become king, or Roxane's unborn child, and Meleager, an infantry captain, took advantage and attempted a coup against Perdiccas. Perdiccas would narrowly escape before setting up a siege of Babylon with the cavalry, and instead of holding out longer, Meleager made a critical error, he let Eumenes mediate the situation, and while reconciliation worked in the short term, he was hunted down and killed. So what if Meleager had managed to either capture Perdiccas before he left Babylon, that he had held out against the siege, and subsequently, took power in a coup, extorting a high-ranking position ensuring his control over the disabled king Philip Arrhidaeus? The compromise that was worked out afterward is butterflied away, what happens to Alexander IV? How are the wars of the Diadochi affected? What happens to Ptolemy, and the pro-Perdiccans in the army? Are they all purged? Can Meleager keep power?
