The New Official What-If Comic Character List

Well I tried resurrecting the old thread, but it seems no one took the bait, so I figured we could start another one. Hopefully you folks will follow, I'm talking to you Fenwick, Mr Bondoc and G.Bone.

Professor X
Real Name: Erik Magnus Lehnsherr
Mutant Ability: Magnetism Manipulation

Erik was born during the 1920s in Germany. During the Third Reich, Erik, his parents, and his sister were persecuted for being Jewish, and were shot by the Nazis and buried in a mass grave. Erik survived the execution, but was later captured and sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland to work in the Sonderkommando. While in Auschwitz, Erik meets in love with a Roma girl named Magda, with whom he escapes the prison camp. Magnus and Magda marry several years later and immigrate to the United States, where the couple had a daughter named Anya.

During a visit to New York City, a young mutant capable of controlling fire, loses control of his powers, and incinerates three city blocks. Erik had stepped into a store to pick up his dry-cleaning and was unable to shield Magda and Anya from the blast of fire. The young mutant was nearly beaten to death by a mob, and was only able to escape with the help of Erik, who planned on killing the young mutant himself.

On top of the nearest building, as Erik was prepared to kill the young mutant, Erik heard him muttering. "Didn't know how to control my powers, didn't know how to control my powers." Erik realized the young mutant hadn't killed his family on purpose, and had only lost control because he hadn't been properly trained. Knowing that this young mutant would be traumatized for the rest of his life, Erik used his magnetism to stop the flow of blood to the part of the young mutants brain that allowed him to access his powers. Setting him down on a street on the other side of the city, the young ex-mutant fled into the crowd, never having to worry about killing again.

Taking the name of Professor X, after the X-Factor responsible for the mutant gene, Erik began to amass funds for a grand idea. Twenty years later, Lehnsherr Institute for Higher Learning opened it's doors to young mutants, giving them a world class education, along with secretly training them to use and control their powers.

X-Men First Class
Cyclops (Scott Summers)
Spider (Peter Parker)
Colossus (Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin)
Arch Angel (Warren Kenneth Worthington III)
Wolfsbane (Rahne Sinclair)

Spider
Real Name: Peter Parker
"Mutant" Ability: Able to cling to walls, super strength, rapid healing, "spider-sense."

Peter Parker lives with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May Parker, who live in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Queens, New York. The aging couple love Peter, but he grows to be unpopular among his peers. Between an uncle who is too old to join him in physical activities and an aunt over-protective of the orphaned child, Peter gravitates to more non-physical hobbies such as photography and home chemistry, encouraged in these endeavors by his guardians. He grows to be a lonely, timid but exceptionally bright teenager who shows more interest in his studies (especially science, for which he has an uncanny affinity that is nothing short of genius) than in social life. He is often the target of jokes by more popular students like Flash Thompson, the high school's star athlete.

Peter Parker attends a science exhibition where suddenly falls ill and is rushed home. Peter later discovers the spider bite has given him an array of spider-like powers, including wall-crawling, superhuman strength, speed and agility, and an extrasensory "spider-sense." Unsure of his new abilites he begins to become more out going in school trying his best to use his new found abilities to becoem popular, over coming the BMOC Flash Thompson with ease. One day while hanging out with his new highschool friends a car zooms by about to hit Parker who eaisly leaps out of the way and clings to a nearby building. The crowd is amazed, but slowly people begin to realize that Peter is a mutant.

Suddenly the young boy is forced to run for his safety as a growing crowd follows the mutant. Inside his home the man explains everything to his Uncle and Aunt. They lock the house and try to get the plice but the crowd outside seems to have enough joining them already. Uncle Ben steps out and does his best to calm the people down only to get a rock thrown at his face. Aunt May scared screams for Peter to get out, and the young man flees once more.

Months pass by with Parker living off the streets using his powers to get by. One day he spies Erik Lehnsherr tear a car apart to save the people inside. Curious Peter followed the man until Erik captured and spoke to the boy. Hearing his tale of discrimination, and abandonment Peter found a welcome place inside of the Lehnsherr Institute for Higher Learning, and a slot on the X-men as the Spider.

As time went on Peter developed into a genius who embraced his mutant abilites, and found a place for himself in the world. In private Parker made constant trips to spy upon his Uncle Ben, in a coma since the accident with the mob, and Aunt May, a secretary for the Friends of Humanity Queens chapater, and always willing to tell the tale of how her Mutie nephew attacked her husband.

Another Change to the ATL....

Blue Diamond (a.k.a. Col. Joseph Ledger, US Army)-Ledger is a former member of U.S. Army Delta Force, who served as a "military advisor" in Indochina in 1959. While on mission in Sub Bac Pho on the Mekong River, bonded with an alien artifact, which granted him the ability to wield and manipulate energy at will, into forms and structures. The crystal also seems to have prevented his aging for the past 50 years...

Under the advice of the Kennedy administration in 1961, under the name of "Blue Diamond" (based on the crystalline artifact which was permanently bonded to his arm), he became one of the founding members of the Avengers. He has served as the team's drill seargent and chief advisor, constantly briefing the White House on the nature of the team. One of the stranger aspects of his membership was his friendship with former criminal Hawkeye, and untractable opposition to proposed plans to allow Bruce Banner at any point into the group.

In 1985 until 1989, Ledger mysteriously disappeared while on mission. To this day no one knows where he went or what happened, including Ledger, whose memory was altered upon his return. In 1992, upon his return to Earth, Ledger was subjected to a humiliating trial wherein he was charged with going AWOL. Rather than place the Avengers in jeopardy, he submitted himself to prison time at Fort Leavenworth, KS and nearly suffered a mental breakdown until 1999. In 2004, he returned to the Avengers, and has returned to his duties as the team's tactical leader.

Iron Man
Real Name: James Rupert Rhodes

James Rupert Rhodes was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While in serving in Afghanistan, Rhodes' helicopter is shot down by insurgent rocket fire, and while trying to get the aircraft airborne again, he encounters Tony Stark, who has just escaped from a prison camp in a bulky cobbled together, prototype suit of powered armor. While escaping, Tony Stark artificial heart plate was damage by shrapnel. After rescuing Rhodes from his crashing helicopter, Stark explained briefly how to operate the armor to Rhodes. Stark recorded a message into the suit, that Rhodes was to be his beneficiary, after which, Stark died.

Returning the United States, Rhodes took the helm of Stark Enterprises and continued Stark's work on the Iron Man suit, eventually creating a poweful force to combat the world's evil.

Rogue
Anna Marie

Born and raised in Mississipi, Anna Marie led a tough, secluded life with an abusive single mother until her X-Factor mutant gene developed and allowed her to absorb the memories or, in some cases, powers of people she touches. At first she was frightened at this ability especially after accidently absorbing the memories of a childhood friend and putting him into a coma and she fled her home hoping to avoid persecution.

Alone on the run, she came to use her powers for her own benefit, absorbing people's memories to gain knowledge of their bank details and making sizable withdrawals from cash machines after taking their wallets from their bodies that lay in comas. The massive influx of several people's memories have had a detrimental affect on her sanity and she developed a second personality in an entity called 'Rogue'.

Rogue has developed an addiction to taking the memories from other people, going so far as trying to gather a wide range of experiences to benefit her in different ways, ranging from weapons training from an off-duty soldier to computer skills taken from a technician. She periodically hunts mutants down in an attempt to absorb their abilities to add to her growing arsenal. Although still young, Rogue is considered a threat to herself as well as the people around her and has clashed with government forces and the mutant vigilante group the X-Men.

(after watching the tv series Heroes i always thought that a sylar-like rogue would be an amazing character)

Wolfsbane
Real Name: Rahne Sinclair

Rahne (pronounced "Rain") is an American citizen of Scottish descent (born somewhere in Ross and Cromarty) who was a ward of Doctor Moira MacTaggert. Rahne's shapeshifting ability started to impact her skeletal structure, bones were warping, splintering and cracking everytime she used her powers and reverted back to human form.

By the time Rahn was 15 she was confined to a wheelchair, and was well on her way to becoming a complete invalid. Dr. MacTaggert was able to save Rahne's life, and restore her body to full vitality after hearing through contacts of an experimental procedure known as the Weapon Plus Program.

Financing from Professor X allowed Dr. MacTaggert to buy a large quantity of Adamantium, which she hoped would fix Rahne's skeletal issues by bonding the adamantium directly to her skeleton. Rahne was prepared for the operation, the X-Man Arch Angel having donated plenty of his blood for the operation.

Professor X would be performing the bonding process, only his complete control of magnetism would allow this operation to be a success. Rahne was laid out on the table, anesthesia was applied and the operation, with the powdered Adamantium that had been mixed with Arch Angels blood surged through her veins. Professor X concentrated, bonding each individual atom of adamantium to Rahne's bones, and marrow. The pain caused Rahne to constantly shift forms, from her battle form to human form, again and again.

Professor X was able to use the transformation to bond the adamantium deeper into the bone, eventually "petrified" Rahne's bones, so that they were completely made of adamantium.

After months of recovery, Wolfsbane joined the X-Men as their close combat instructor, running new and old students alike through the Danger Room simulator.

Caliban
Aliases; ?
"Mutant" Ability: Outside Eating

The mutant known as Caliban is an odd one. Although he does not have powers of magnetism nor shape changing, it is a power nonetheless. In this case, Caliban's powers relates to his eating.

Caliban's powers is quite literally, his stomach manifested into two aluminum caterpillar like creatures that comes in the size of a medium sized dog and grow to the size of foals when they are full. These creatures can eat anything and are very fast. They are very impossible to kill with the exception of certain chemical mixtures that stem from inert industrial steel plants/car factories. When these creatures have eaten their fill, they go back to the 'body', and get absorbed. In this way, Caliban does not have to eat.

It should be noted that the very existence of Caliban is under suspicion due to the stories coming from the low economic districts in Brooklyn. These stories often describe Caliban as a victim of overt discrimination by his mother, forced to dwell in unsanitary sewer like conditions, and rose up to become a quasi-Robin Hood figure. The physical description usually puts Caliban about 5'8'', perpetually skinny, and immune to any physical harm*.

As of late, stories about Caliban have been scarce due to ongoing current affairs. The closest that a person can find to this figure is Josiah X, a Muslim community leader based in the said regions that have pioneered a more open handed approach to the 'mutant' problem. Reports about Josiah X's similar physical features to Caliban should be not be continued.

*with the exception being if the caterpillar creatures are beaten up, kicked, and put near to the chemical mixtures

Are there any projects on AH to create your own superheroes possibly based on DC/Marvel ones, but not connected to either universe?

Project: SENTINEL- After the discovery of Nazi research into the mutant genome in 1942, the U.S. Department of War began an intensive study into creation of the "perfect" countermeasure against the rise of a "post-human species" based on the extensive studies of Nathaniel Essex, Bolivar Trask, and Philip Nolan Voight. Under the direct authorization of President Harry Truman in 1948, the project would exploit the research and technology provided by government scientists in an effort to prevent the "collapse of the human social order". Intially the project was based on the idea of simply improving and refining the 1941 "Super-Soldier" formula of Josef Reinstein and Professor Abraham Erskine. But with the rise of mutant extremist groups, the program expanded into a defense against the "metahuman threat". By 1962, research in the form of gamma-radiation human experiments were used as a means to create soliders who were hyperaggressive and extremely powerful physically. Starting in 1963, the U.S. government had begun using technology from Stark Industries in an effort to exploit the latest in body army. By 1968 during the TET Offensive, under General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, the project began a series of upgrades which combined the technologies to create a "living tank".

Ever since that time, Project SENTINEL has been utilized as the ultimate non-nuclear deployment of force. By 1979, the Carter administration utilized SENTINEL in Iran, successfully freeing the American Embassy hostages in Tehran. The Reagan administration in 1983, successfully deployed the SENTINEL against forces in Nicaragua and against Libya in 1986. In 1995, the Clinton administration sent members of Project SENTINEL were deployed to the area of Yugoslavia. While a complete list of personnel is classified, the U.S. Defense Department has released the following partial list of "living tanks":

  • Capt. Clinton McIntyre
  • Capt. Isaiah Bradley
  • Lt. Andrew Perlmutter
  • Lt. William Naslund
  • Lt. Michael Labash
  • Lt. James "Bucky" Barnes
  • Lt. John Walker
  • Lt. Jeffrey Mace
  • Lt. John Walsh
  • Lt. James MacPherson
  • Lt. Col. John Howlett
  • Col. Frank Castle

Any other information on this project would be considered a violation of the National Security Act of 1948.

OOC: Please make note of the alteration of "real-life" history caused by the SENTINEL Program....

The Xavier Institute

Founders: Cain and Charles Xavier

Cain Xavier
Magically Induced Powers: Super Strength, Durability, Immortality

Charles Xavier
Mutant Ability: Vast psionic power

Cain Marko is the son of Dr. Kurt Marko, an atomic researcher. Cain's parents separated and Cain was eventually sent to a boarding school. Kurt Marko and a colleague, Dr. Brian Xavier, another atomic researcher, were working in the lab late one night when an accident happened. Kurt Marko was killed in the accident. When his mother did not want him, Cain was asked by Brian Xavier to stay with him and his family.

Cain Marko moved into the Xaviers’ large Westchester County mansion, where he lived with the couple and their young son Charles. Cain, who had become a cruel and spiteful boy, had a hard time adjusting at first. Cain immediately began bullying Charles. When Charles finally told his father, it was then that Cain revealed he had often been beaten by his abusive father.

Charles' vast telepathic powers were beginning to develop, and on one occasion he found himself experiencing the anguished thoughts and emotions of Cain during one of Cain’s nightmares. The inexperienced young Charles could not control or end his contact with Cain's mind at this time. Somehow Cain sensed that Charles was reading his mind. At first Cain was resentful, but as the nightmare continued it was Charles who was able to stop the images of Kurt Marko.

In the morning Cain awoke calm and at peace for the first time in many years. His new life was becoming everything he dreamed of. This would eventually bring Cain to ask if he could call the Xavier’s mom and dad. The couple would eventually adopt Cain as their own, with Cain requesting to take their family name.

Both boys were brilliant students. Charles was fascinated by biology and intent on undertaking graduate studies. He entered England's Oxford University, where he met and fell in love with a young Scotswoman named Moira Kinross. Their passionate discussions on genetic mutation gave way to an equally passionate romance. Charles and Moira planned to be married, but after finishing his work at Oxford, Xavier was drafted and sent to Asia during the Korean War. He lost touch with her for many years.

Cain followed in his adoptive father’s, and biological father’s, original career in the field of nuclear research. Attending MIT, he received his PhD. He was recruited to work on the Manhattan Project during WW2 at the Health Project in Rochester NY, where he continued for sometime after the war.

Charles and Cain served in the same unit in Korea. Cain and Charles were ordered to a suspected enemy weapons depot. When then located the area they found a cave opening, which Cain decided to enter. Charles followed Cain into the cave that housed the lost secret temple of Cyttorak, a powerful mystical entity. Cain impulsively grabbed a glowing ruby from the lap of an idol and read the inscription (which mystically appeared to his mind to be in English): "Whosoever touches this gem shall possess the power of the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak. Henceforth, you who read these words shall become forevermore a human juggernaut." As Charles watched, the gem's mystical power transformed Cain into a large, superhuman being. Just then enemy high explosive bombardment caused a cave-in. Cain and Charles had been buried under several thousand tons of rock.

When Charles awoke he found his brother holding up part of the cave in. Together they slowly worked their way to an uncollapsed section of the cave network. They eventually made their way back to base.

After the war the two decided to start a Think Tank dedicated to investigating super abilities, including magic and psionics. The Xavier Institute, using the Greek letter X (Xi) as their symbol, for random variables, would become one of the better known organizations to study such phenomenon. It would not surface for many years later, but during a time when Charles lost control of his powers it was revealed that several of their employees were actually agents of Project Sentinel. This would cause a restructuring of the organization to prevent its knowledge from being used for aggressive military purposes.

The Xavier Institute has connections with several other organizations and beings of power, notable are the Lehnsherr Institute for Higher Learning, Stark Industries, Dr Strange, Black Air, & Bureau 18.

Deadpool
Real Name: Captain James Howlett

Attempting to duplicate the success of Project: SENTINEL, the Weapon Plus Program recruited the younger brother of Lt. Col. John Howlett. The mutant healing factor that James possesses was enhanced through genetic manipulation, his body was "wired" to heighten his reflexes, in an attempt to duplicate the mutant "Spider" senses.

James broke out of the lab when he discovered that he was going to be used as a catch-all assassin, which would include American targets. James fled to the east, where he hid in the mountains of China, studying under the Immortal Iron Fist, and later the Silver Samurai, the later of which gave him a katana crafted from Vibranium.

Taking the name Deadpool, James hires himself out as a contract killer, only taking assignments that exist within the criminal underworld, or within military/goverment espionage.

The Lizard

Real Name: Curt Connors
Aliases: Lounge Lizard, Dr Scales, Iggy
Mutate Powers: Regeneration, Super Strength, Able to adhere to most surfaces.

Curt Connors was born in Coral Gables, Florida. He decided to become a doctor with an interest in emergency medicine. To pay for medical school he had signed up for the Army, where he was a combat surgeon during the Vietnam War. He performed battlefield surgery on wounded GIs, but had his left arm injured in a blast and had to be amputated. After his honorable discharge from the Army he got a research job with the federal governments Medical Radiation Research Project (MRRP) in NYC. He became obsessed with the possible discovery of regenerating tissues and organs. He studied the secret of amphibian and reptile limb regeneration.

While doing research he came across some papers by Dr Bruce Banner. Dr Banner was doing mostly reactor research but some of the papers gave possible biological implications to Curt. In the lab Dr Connors used this work with his own to develop a treatment using the host innate immune system along with gamma radiation. With the assistance of his new lab technician, Flash Thompson, he successfully re-grew the missing limb of a rabbit and then, despite the warnings of his tech Flash, chose to test it on himself. Connors ingested the formula and took a dose of gamma radiation for several days. After about a two week period his missing arm did indeed grow back.

Excited to have his arm back he went out to spend time on the town with his wife. The sight of seeing Curt with his arm back overawed Martha with delight. While at a restaurant in town, masked men came into the restaurant. Holding everyone at gun point, all patrons were robbed. Something in Curt would not stand for this and he lunged at one of the armed men. In mid-leap he transformed in a man sized lizard. He grappled the man to the ground, while the other fired at him. The bullets ripped through his flesh. Leaping away from the pinned man, Dr Connors attaches to the ceiling for a few moments, before falling to the floor. The armed men go away.

Martha quickly grabbed Curt, who had transformed back to his normal self while unconscious, and exited the restaurant. At home Martha awaited Curt to awaken. She told him she was both scared and proud of him. After talking into the night, they both decided it may be Curt’s responsibility to protect others from criminals. Thus the Lizard was born.

Ricochet
Alias: 'Captain America', Isaiah Bradley

Ricochet is a legend in African American circles, predominately due to his reputation in WW1 as an excellent fighter pilot under French command, and his unusual skills behind a cockpit. This, as one can suspect, is the origin of his name. After WW1 had ended, Ricochet received French citizenship, eventually finding a career as a bush pilot in their colonies.

It was in 1931 that Mr. Bradley vanished. Official records have proven that he was involved in a secret mission to investigate strange occurrences in the Arctic as well as something that involved his former homeland. Nothing was ever heard from him again until 1942 where he surfaced as a rogue plane in the vain attempt to aid American refugees fleeing the Philippines.

Throughout the passing years, Mr. Bradley has become a symbol of freedom, popping up at every moment where it is needed. Mr. Bradley is rather long lived and has a healing factor that slows down his aging. Due to the conflicts emerging in the 1950's, Mr. Bradley adopted the non-de-plume 'Captain America', wearing a chain mail with a star for easy identification. This was soon dropped in the 1970's, and currently Mr. Bradley operates a small airlines called Ferris Airways out of Chicago, Illinois.

The Threat To World Peace!!!

Yellow Claw (a.k.a. General S'ung Chu)- Until his overthrow by President Zheng Fu Kang in 2007, General S'ung was considered the most dangerous head of state in world history. In 1956, General S'ung seized control of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) despite efforts by Lin Biao. General S'ung was called "Yellow Claw" after his brutal torture and interrogation techniques, especially against suspected Kuomingtang (KMT) spies. In 1968, S'ung Chu secretly negotiated an arms sale agreement with Latveria, S'ung was brought into Mao's inner circle. When Lin Biao died mysteriously after the Cultural Revolution in 1970, he became one of the leading candidates as successor to Mao Tse-tung. When Mao died as well from STD complications in Beijing in 1974, General S'ung seized control of the government wherein he forged greater relations with Premier Leonid Brezhnev. By 1975, Chinese PLA troops were beginning covert operations into Thailand, Indonesia, and Nepal, often with impunity. In 1989, General S'ung launched a brutal military purge of universities and armed forces nationwide. In 1991, S'ung publiclybacked the overthrow of Premier Mikhail Gorbachev. In 1994, S'ung nearly pushed the world to nuclear apocalypse by backing North Korea against South Korea, and sending "volunteer units" into Yugoslavia. In 1997, General S'ung Chu drove the world closer to a world war after he declared martial law over Hong Kong. In 2001, General S'ung sold ICBM technology to Iran, Iraq, Syria, North Korea, and Pakistan. His controversial sale of nuclear submarines to Iran in 2006, sparked fears of war with the United States. As such, when a young rebel leader named Zheng Fu Kang seized control in Beijing, the world breathed a collective sigh of relief.

The Pride (a.k.a. "the Secret Empire")- According to SHIELD and the FBI, the Pride criminal organization is one of the most dangerous criminal organizations on Earth. Under the suspected leadership of Geoffrey and Catherine Wilder of Los Angeles, California, the criminal organization has roots in almost every facet of the economy of the Western United States is under the influence of the inflence of the organization, including majority share control of Roxxon Oil, the Brand Corporation, and Advanced Idea Mechanics (AIM). With the Committee to Regain America's Principles (CRAP), the criminal organization has determined every gubernatorial election in AZ, CA, NV, NM, OR, and WA since 1966. Another case of their power was the brazen kidnapping of mutants Havok, Polaris, Beast, Iceman, Angel, Mastermind, Mesmero, Blob and Unus the Untouchable without either police or vigilante ever truly discovering either the true identity of their captors or the purpose of their abduction. The criminal organization has been a front for the rising alien threat of the Gibborim, an alien species that needs human souls for sustenance. Members of the organization have included:

  • Geoffrey and Catherine Wilder - They handled drugs, gambling and robbery in Los Angeles. For this, these two established strong and powerful connections throughout the West Coast.
  • Dale and Stacey Yorkes (a.k.a. "the Travelers") They are time travelers who posed as antique dealers. The two, using a special 4-D portico, traveled all over time, and had stolen a dinosaur, mentally linking it with their daughter. They believed the Gibborim would make a better world, one that wasn't full of superheroes who had foiled their plans in the past (and presumably the future).
  • Frank and Leslie Dean ("the Colonists") -They are alien exiles from "Majesdane", the homeworld of their race, who posed as Hollywood actors and New Age enthusiasts. The Deans are intergalactic arms traders to the Skrulls.
  • Victor and Janet Stein ("the Wise Men") They are world-reknown brilliant inventors, are known for making fortunes for what people believe are nessecities. They also made "weaponized" gloves called Fistigons, multi-spectral goggles, the transport ship "the Leapfrog".
  • Gene and Alice Hayes (a.k.a. "the Outcasts") The two are telepathic mutants who posed as a doctor and a speech therapist. They had no idea that their daughter was also a mutant until the other children ran away from their homes. Conspired with the Deans to get rid of all human members of the Pride in order to ensure immortality for their families. The two can telepathically remove all memory and sedate people.
  • Robert and Tina Minoru ("the Magicians") The two are dark wizards who posed as an average, church-going, middle-class couple. When the Gibborim had first abducted the Pride from whatever they were doing, the Minorus were on their wedding day. In the Rite of Blood, Mr. Minoru conducts the enchanted spell of sacrifice.

Solitaire
Carl Ancelet (Remy Lebeau in the normal TL)

The young Carl Ancelet from New Orlean was nearly kidnap by some criminal at his birth. His parent a bit uncertain about keeping an obliviously mutant child became very protective of him (especially of his mother). They quickly kept him at home were they home schooled him and nearly kept him as a secret. The child sociability grew ackwardlly not knowing much hot to act around people that were not close to him. He was reveal as particularly good piano player. His father gave him a deck of card in order to pass time but find no one to play with him, so he played solitaire. He was curious about the world outside his house and tried to figure it out using all the outlets that were at his disposition.

His power suddenly started to manifest at the beginning of his teenage years, turning the home toaster in an explosive devise burning the home and killing his parent. He quickly becomes a run away feeling impossibly guilty for his deed. He quickly had a hard time adapting to his new environment going from a controlled one to a largely lawless one. He quickly became something akin to a vigilante mostly coming from his need of order around him, but his power became too much for him to handle. He went to the Lehnsherr Institute, attending temporarily but quitted after some time thinking that Professor X was not quick enough to give him the mastery he needed and he was unable to work in a team growing aversion to the other X-man. He preferred becoming an auto-didactic and was somehow more successful, but his power still sometime unstable.

He decided to stay in New York now more familiar with the underworld. He has just recently become private detective, but who also is the vigilante named Solitaire. His first case is with a lady name Ororo Munroe.

The Ghost Riders (a.k.a. Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch, and Carter Slade)- Along the lonely highways and backroads of North American frontier, urban legends speak of a trio of motorcycle riders who terrorize the region who can transform into a demonic motorcyclists with a flaming skull and supernatural powers. The motorcycles they ride can travel faster than conventional motorcycles and can perform such otherwise impossible feats as riding up a vertical surface or across the surface of water. According to the FBI, the Ghost Riders have been publicly reported since 1972, yet some reports place the Ghost Riders as early as 1867. The most frightening thought about this group is thatthey are a group awaiting completion. According to one interpretation, the Ghost Riders are the harbingers of the apocalypse, imbued into human hosts. They will ride during the Apocalypse when the seven seals are opened, resulting death and destruction on a vast scale.

CLAASSIFIED
TOP SECRET
FILE: EXCELSIOR-4

Excelsior-4- Excelsior 4 is the heart of many conspiracy theories that have arisen over the course of the space program. In 1961, the U.S. Defense Department launched its own top secret space program, approved under President John F. Kennedy. The program with its headquarters at Groom Lake, Nevada was aimed to not beat the Soviets to the moon, but to reverse engineer some alien technology that had appeared on Earth starting in 1947. The project was led by former Manhattan Project scientist Professor Reed Richards and his equally intelligent wife Doctor Alyssa Moy-Richards, who served as chief physician and astrobiologist. The pilot was Colonel John J. Jameson, USAF and astronomer and physicist Professor Franz Stahl rounded up the team of astronauts. Using a reversed engineered FTL drive, the astronauts launched on November 15, 1961, on a clear autumn night, with few except the NASA and Defense Department personnel aware of their attempted flight. 76 minutes into the flight, the astronauts engaged the FTL drive and suddenly disappeared into the annals of history. According to recent FBI invastigations, it was revealed in 1989, that Professor Franz Stahl had been a paid agent of the Soviet Union and had been paid to sabotage the mission.

According to several well-placed sources with SWORD (Sentient World Observation and Response Department) and specifically Director Abigail Brand, recent reports released in 2004, show that the members of Excelsior 4 survived their intial transport, only to be enslaved initially by the Shi'ar Empire and eventually transported to the planet Sakaar in 1977. Recently declassified KGB records from 1964, report that Lt. Ivan Kragoff a.k.a. "Red Ghost" encountered the lost astronauts briefly in 1964. Currently, all that is known is that the astronauts are currently lost in the space-time continuum, and that they have taken efforts to get home...

Here are some PODs and ideas for characters that I was wondering if people would be interested in seeing. Please let me know if any spark your interest:

  • Carl King (a.k.a. Venom)- Carl King was a sociopathic and violent bully who constantly beat up a young Peter Parker, throughout his years in High School. He was on the fast track to nowhere until he swallowed a certain spider after discovering the secret identity of the "Spider". Unfortunately this transformed him into a hive mind of a swarm of spiders which quickly hollowed out his body, but could transfer his consciousness into the husks of other life forms, along with obtaining the skills and memories of his victims. He constantly battles "the Spider" in a sick desire to take upon the "perfect life" he believes Parker stole from him.
  • Col. Ben Grimm (a.k.a. "the Incredible Hulk")- Grimm was a U.S. Army Ranger until a series of events forced him to turn in members of his unit for illegal activities. Unfortunately, for this noble act, Grimm was blackballed by most of the Army brass, and was forced to take a position as a MP at Las Cruces, Nevada Nuclear Facility. It was there he encountered a strange drifter named Rick Jones who had broken onto the base, just prior to a gamma weapon test. Caught in the blastwave, Grimm was permanently changed by the gamma radiation on a scale not seen even amongst members of Project Sentinel. Transformed into a green goliath, Grimm retains his intelligence, and has been recruited by the General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross into black ops for the U.S. military.
  • Erik the Red (a.k.a. Scott Summers)- Summers is one of the most dangerous criminals in the United States. With his metahuman abilities, Summers took on the moniker "Erik the Red" in the belief that like the Vikings, mutants had the right to take whatever they can, as "might makes right". Recently, he has also been linked to a series of assassination of foreign heads of state, bank robberies in 12 states, assault and battery, destruction of police property, arson, extortion, and murder. Summers is to be considered "armed and dangerous" at all times. With his brazen attitude, he has antagonized almost every law enforcement agency and mutant organization.
