Mongolian Fascist Union (Монгол фашист холбоо)
In this ATL, Mongolia doesn't become part of OTL USSR. In fact, this new empire is an attempt to bring back the old Mongol Empire from the 13th and 14th centuries. The capital of this new Mongolia is in a rebuilt Karakorum, taken by force sometime during WW1 or WW2 during the Fascist' union's early days.

Being a neo pagan country like early Nazi Germany, it would have tried to eradicate religions like Islam or Buddhism in place of Tengriism as the government sought to bring back the old culture and customs set during the old Mongol Empire's lifespan. Ironically, this empire is much, MUCH less tolerant of other religions unlike the 'neutral' stance taken by the old empire.

It held territory previously claimed by OTL China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The Fascist Union's fate is undecided, but it probably would have lasted until the end of WW2 like most fascist empires then. Mongolia's fate after that is undecided as well, it probably would have become communist before the USSR fell apart like in OTL or it could be occupied by the US (again, like in OTL in post-WW2 Japan) before being liberated into a different Mongolia that would last to this day.

Seeing as the challenge says ANY Asian country except for Russia or china, I wasn't sure if Mongolia would fit seeing as written (modern) Mongolian uses Cyrillic like written Russian does and the two countries are right next to each other...

Great Mongol State (ᠢᠺ ᠮᠣᠨᠭᠯ ᠣᠯᠰ)
Here Kublai Khan decided against invading Japan and Vietnam, and instead turned his attention to solidifying his dominance over the other Mongol states. As a result the great khan was able to draw on the other parts of the empire to maintain control during the Ming Crisis. The state suffered much trouble at the beginning of the modern era as it suffered from a great deal of trouble with the expanding European powers threatening its control of Asia, but in the end the vast resources of the state allowed it to survive. In modern time the state is slightly smaller than it used to be, but the great khan is still one of the most powerful people in the world as Mongolia can draw upon more resource and manpower than any other country in the world.

Empire of Manchuria

A completely different Chinese Civil War (along with a completely different World War Two) ends with China split into four between Tibetans, Republicans, Communists and Imperialists. The last faction emerges as the most powerful, because although its population isn't the largest, it manages to seize the capital, most of Mongolia and Russian Far East. After the war, locked in a bitter feud with both People's Republic of China and Soviet Union, the Empire of Manchuria is quick to develop nuclear weapons.

Counting their heritage from the mythological Sushen people, the rulers of the Empire have revived the Manchu script and language which is now the sole official language. This was done also in part to differentiate the Empire from the Han and Mandarin-dominated People's Republic. The minority of Han Chinese in the Empire have adopted the change in script and language in order to escape paranoid repressions targeted at the "Communist spies".

The flag of the Empire depicts a traditional Manchu warrior on horseback and a Manchu script symbol for Manchu on a yellow field (an old Manchu color) framed with black.
